pediatrician recs in Maple Grove area?

Hi!

I am looking for a new pedi from my DD.  She is 4 months old.  The pedi we have been seeing isn't great and doesn't seem supportive of my decision to make baby food, breast feed, etc.  He also talks to me as if I know nothing about parenting and health/wellness.  Seriously, he reminds me every time we see him to make sure DD is in a car seat.  It is really frustrating because I am an educated person and he talks to me as if  I am a complete idiot.  I am looking for a new pedi that is a better fit for my family.  Anyone have any suggestions?

  • Well I haven't gone yet (our 1st appt is on Monday) but the team at Fairview Southdale recommended Partners in Peds and Dr. Cindy Howe - she is at their Maple Grove and Plymouth offices.  She was also named one of the TC's Top Doctors by Minneapolis St. Paul magazine.  Partners in Peds website is www.pipstop.com.

Another group that was recommended to me was South Lake Peds.  They also have an office in Maple Grove.  The hospital didn't recommend any specific doctors pediatricians though.

  • Its not Maple Grove, but we see Dr Rzepka at the Brookdale Park Nicollet Clinic (Brooklyn Park).  I love him, and the office is great too.

We've seen Dr. Howe through ReadyCare before.  She's very nice and a wonderful doctor if you don't have an uncirc'd boy.  She's not super educated on how to care for an intact penis or what is normal (she referred us to a urologist to get DS circ'd because he wasn't retracting, even though he's not supposed to anyway--luckily, we got a second opinion).  But seriously, she really is very nice.  And if you have a girl (which it looks like you both do) or a circ'd boy, I would probably recommend her.

We see Dr. Greg Savitt in Plymouth at Partners in Peds.  Love him.  Can't say enough good things about him.

Another good doc at Plymouth PIP is Dr. Metille

I also have heard extremely wonderful things about Dr. Diane Meier at Maple Grove Partners in Pediatrics from one of my families at the daycare I used to work at.  They LOVED her.  We haven't seen her, so I can't confirm (we wanted a doctor the same gender as our child, otherwise we probably would have gone with their recommendation).

And the Maple Grove office has really great hours and they are open on the weekends.  I love Partners in Pediatrics.  They really are a great practice.  The ReadyCare system is awesome.  You can always get right in for illness or injury (we've never waited longer than 5 minutes).  And there is only one doctor that I've gotten that I really don't like.

Sorry that was so long, but I hope that helps!

  • We go to the Partners in Peds in MG and love it. I would recommend looking on their website. They have parent night once or twice a month for expecting couples/parents inquiring about the clinic. Its a group setting and you also get a tour.
  • We see Dr. Dryer with North Clinic. WONDERFUL doctor.
