Found a drop side crib I love (Angel Line). I really like the convenience of a drop side and it will be easier for me. However, I've read some conflicting reviews about their safety.
I wouldn't get a drop side crib. I can't think of a single time I ever used the dropside feature on ours. So when B's crib was recalled I returned for the non dropside version.
IMO the convince isn't worth the risk in anyway. Currently it seems like some sort of dropside crib is getting recalled every few months. Most major retailers refuse to sell them for a reason. Also why you buy something that the federal government is looking into banning the sale of?
I didn't know the Fed. was looking into them. Just starting to research now. Sounds like stores are not carrying them anymore. Thanks for your feedback though.

look about 20 post below, the post with PSA in the title.
We registered for and chose a drop-gate crib with a piano hinge from Baby's Dream for the ease of reaching into the crib (which is the reason I am guessing you like the drop-side cribs). By the end of this year, most (if not all) drop-side cribs will be recalled and most manufacturers have already stopped making this type of crib.
