After 2 weeks of all day nausea/vomiting, I saw my OB nurse yesterday and got a prescription for PrimaBella. In case you don't know what it is, it's a wristband which has been cleared by the FDA for treating nausea/vomiting in pregnancy. It's a neuromodulation device that acts on the median nerve in your wrist and by stimulating the nerve somehow it sends a signal to the brain to restore normal stomach rhythm. I had it overnighted and it arrived this morning before 9 a.m. I was sort of skeptical if it would help (Sea Bands did nothing for me).
But, it really does seem to help. I have been so pleased. I haven't been nauseated all day and have actually been able to eat meals instead of gagging at the thought of trying to eat. Does anyone else have it? Has it worked for you?
Re: So I got a PrimaBella
I am so glad to hear it is working for you!!!! I had Hyperemesis (severe morning sickness) with my first pregnancy and I am now pregnant again so my doctor ordered me one to have to use this time around. I turn it up higher when I get nausea and it seems to make a difference. I'm just entering 6 weeks pregnant so we will see how it works when I get further along.
Do you constantly have yours on around the clock?
Thanks! I'm glad it's making a difference for you, too. I am planning to leave it on all the time (I just got it today), though the information I received with it says it usually provides relief in about 10 minutes. I think it has a battery life of 150 hours so I am going to get more batteries to keep on hand. The tingling in my fingers feels a little strange, but it's not so bad. It makes me feel like it's doing what it's supposed to be doing and that's comforting.
