OK ladies, give me a hand. I want to buy a couple of Bravado nursing bras, but I'm really confused as to which style - and in what size - I should get.
The details:
* Only looking at the Original Nursing Bra (ONB) or the Original Nursing Bra Plus (ONBP) - the other styles don't seem widely available in Australia or are much more expensive, so I'm limiting it to these two
* The bewbs are currently (as in right this minute lol) a size 42D
According to Bravado's website, 42D = an X-Large (42-46 C/D) in the ONB.
However, I've read a number of reviews that say these bras run small. Since I'm at the upper end of the sizing for the ONB I'm wondering if I should get the ONBP in Large (38-42 DD/E) or X-Large (42-46 DD/E) instead. Is it the cup size or the band size that runs small? If it's the cup size, then I'll need the Plus, but if it's the band size then the regular bra should be fine - right?
Re: Bravado nursing bra sizing help
I thought it was the cup size that ran a little smaller (compared to the other nursing bras I tried on) but I was trying on their smooth cup underwire - the ones you are looking at seem like they would be a little more forgiving if you were a little off on the size..
The difficult thing about nursing bras re: band size is that for regular bras you should always buy it really tight but b/c it will stretch (and most women for whatever reason are wearing the wrong band size and thus the wrong cup size) but for nursing you really don't want it to be that tight - although it looks like you are getting non-underwire ones so I would still get the band size on the smaller side if possible b/c it will stretch and you may get smaller
I dunno...considering I am now a 40I I cannot comment on the fit of Bravado since they don't come in my size.
That said, I'd just order a couple of sizes and see what fits best in person and then send back the stuff that doesn't work for you. I did that with the nursing bras I've bought and it's been good since some designers fit/size differently thank others.
I've gotten all of my nursing bras from www.breakoutbras.com they have awesome customer service and a fantastic return policy.

I was thinking of doing this...but there's one store in Australia that currently has the ONB on clearance (great discount, but no returns allowed) so I was hoping to figure out if they'd fit ahead of time so I could order them. I suppose I should just play it safe!
