New to O.C.

Hey Everyone!

Well I moved here when my hubby returned from deployment in Afghanistan. I'm from Northern Cali (San Jose-San Francisco). I really do enjoy it here and am excited to start my new family. It's exciting being pregnant, and we find out the sex on Friday! :)

But it gets lonely sometimes without all my friends and family from up North. I work part-time and go to the gym a lot. I'm looking for new things to do or ways to make new friends. Any suggestions?

    Hi!  I live in Aliso Viejo which is right next to Laguna Niguel.  Where do you work?  How often?  I work M-TH in Irvine.

    I'm due 9/10 with a boy, and also have a daughter.

    I don't really have any suggestions, but wanted to say congrats and welcome!  We have get togethers from time to time, so I hope you can make it to one.

    Hi and Welcome! 

    My suggestion is to go on meetup.com and join a mom's group.  There is actually one called Expecting Moms of 2010 in Orange County, so you can meet ladies that are still pregnant and ones that are already moms.  That might be a good way to meet others in Orange County.  I am a member of one of the mom's groups and there is something planned every day of the week it seems.  I work fulltime, but if I was home more I would totally go to more events.  Check it out.  Good Luck and Congrats!

    Welcome to OC!  I am in Orange County and due with my first lil one at the beginning of next year.

     

    I work full time in Irvine (M-F) but am around on weekends if you'd like to meet up or get familiarized with the area!

    Hi!

    My husband and I met in college in Fullerton then moved to the bay area where he's from but moved back to orange county.

     I agree it's not so easy to meet new friends. I suggest the meet  up website too, i've heard great things about it. I'm thinking of joining a prenatal yoga class, maybe you could join too?

    let me know if your interested in something like that. :)

    Hi there! Alisio Viejo is super close to us. I work in Tustin at a Middle School M-F but I only work part time in the afternoons (1-6ish).

     

    We just found out we're having a baby girl! Congrats on your new baby boy and a bigger family :)

    I am definitely going to try that website, it seems helpful. Welcome back to O.C. I hope you liked the Bay Area, I miss it! lol I enjoy it here as well. I have been to a few yoga classes since I've been pregnant, they are pretty cool. I would love to take a prenatal one, sounds like fun :) I can research some in the area. Congrats on your baby boy, we just found out were having a baby girl!
