We currently have sams club, and I'm frustrated because they are usually out of stock with items we need or they don't carry what we need. A lot of moms in our moms group recommend costco over sams club, just seeing what people in general think!
Do you think costco is more expensive?
TIA!
Re: Costco vs Sam's Club
I just recently switched from Sam's to Costco. Mainly because renewal was coming up and there is a 2+ year MAJOR construction project on route to Sam's that I didn't want to deal with and they just built a brand new Costco super close to my house.
The only thing I miss about Sam's club is finding some of the more "name brand" items. Costco mostly carry's their Kirkland brand.
Also Costco doesn't carry Pampers (just FYI)
we use to do sam's but switched to costco last fall. we went last spring for a "preview day" thing at costco--we had to stop at sam's on the way home--did some quick comparison shopping and found that everything we had bought at costco was 50 cents to $1 or a little more cheaper!!! which in the grand scheme of things makes a good difference.
membership is the same cost $50. i have found costco to be cleaner, wider isles, the send us coupons!, never seems crowded (where sam's did no matter when you went).
Costco things i really like:
Hamburger 5lbs for $12! last time i went there was a coupon for kirkland wipes ($4 off-limit 2) I got 1800 wipes for under $30!!!
just some of the things i like about them
Wanted to add - Sam's loads coupons directly to your card. You can check your coupons online or when you get in the store. My two favorites are when they add $2 off chicken or ground beef. Last weekend I got nearly 6lbs of chicen breasts for about $10.
Haha ditto. We have some Costcos about an hour away and before I was with DH I shopped there a lot with my roommate because she had a membership (and I was a mooch haha) and I thought some of the prices were a little much. They also, as another PP said, didn't carry a lot of brand name items, mostly just their own brand. That's also why I like Sam's.
