Best bottle for Lansinoh (Ameda PY) pump??

Hi ladies, I am finishing up my registry and need to come to a decision on bottles to put my breastmilk in so DH can feed baby. I would love one that screwed right into the pump. There are over 200 bottles at Target and I am completely clueless. Any suggestions would be very appreciated!

  • The ones that screw onto the pump are narrow neck, and for bf babies you want to use a wide neck bottle.

That being said I used Born Free bottles for feeding, and these for collection/storage:

They are cheap and fit perfectly. Oddly enough, the Lansinoh brand extra storage bottles don't fit the base of the pump for some reason.  They are too fat.

Thanks for the info! I read that too about the bottles not fitting, I think the Lansinoh bottles are actually for the manual pump and not for the electric.

True, but the wide neck bottles weren't really available when DD was a baby. I used the narrow bottles with her with no problems. Maybe I was just lucky. She would take any bottle, any nipple. She just wanted that milk.

I preferred the Playtex Ventaire bottles. They work with the pump. I also had Dr. Browns (worked with pump but a pain to clean) and Avent (didn't work with pump). I mostly just pumped into the bottles that came with the pump and then poured the milk into other bottles or freezer containers.

This time around I bought a few BPA free bottles and did buy the wide neck kind. I'll just pump into the other bottles since they fit in the cooler case... I suppose I should order new BPA free ones too.

  • I use the Playtex drop ins, they are so easy and mess free! With this you can pump straight into the bottles. I don't use it for milk storage, just the adapter rings for the pumps and flat caps for bottles if I am out of clean nipples when pumping at home.

My Lansinoh electric did come with collection bottles tho that screw right in and are smaller...I just pump into those at work and pour into the liners at home.  Something to keep in mind if you want to use a bottle that doesn't fit the pump! Congrats :)
