I feel like my LO will never tolerate a crib.  We tried as soon as we brought him home from the hospital and we still don't have success.  We can get him to sleep in the swing for his naps but he still wants to be attached to me at night.  Ferber's sleep book says I can start training him at 3 or 4 months.  In the meantime I guess he's never going to go in his crib.  Am I alone or has anyone else experienced this?

Re: When did your LO sleep in a crib at night?
we moved DS to his crib at 10 weeks old.
It wasn't a quick or easy process, though. It took about a week and a half of doing it without stopping for him to have a normal night time sleep in there.
The best advice I can give you is 2 things.
1. if you want your LO to be in his crib, make the decision and don't waver from it. You're going to be tired, it's going to be hard, but the more you stop and start the more confused your LO is going to be, and the harder it will be next time
2. start with day time naps. When your LO starts to get drowsy or falls asleep during the day, move him into his crib. if he wakes and starts crying, pick him up, rock him, calm him and when he gets tired/falls asleep again, do it again
You can do this, good luck

My boys were in their cribs on day 2 but they were together, so I think that helped. Tessa was in our room until we moved to a bigger house (about 2mos). But, she was in a co-sleeper so the transition wasn't that bad.
Can you try in your room at first?
We started little one in his crib around 2-3 weeks (before that was PnP or bouncy seat) and it didnt require any adjustment really.
Goooood luck!
at 1 week old she started sleeping there.
Have you tried a paci for him? Also perhaps you can spray some of your perfume in the crib so it "smells like mommy"
7 weeks, before that they shared a PNP in our room but started getting to big and moving too much to share. Now they sleep in their cribs every night 8pm-7am. My son is better at napping in his crib during the day, my daughter rarely naps in her crib - too much to look at during the day! They both do naps in swing or car seat during the day, which I am trying to stop doing but it is so much easy to get them to sleep and with 2 it is a feat of magic just to have them nap around the same time period!
