Success after IF

Will they ever lay still in the crib?!?

Charlie and Lily flop around in their cribs like fish. I put them down for a nap and they spend a good 10 minutes rolling and rotating and who knows what else. I just put Lily down for her nap then came downstairs for Charlie, and by the time I got back upstairs with him Lily had rotate 90 degrees and had her arm up over her head, stuck in the crib slats. It's kind of amusing to try to guess where they'll actually fall asleep, but I also worry that they're going to get stuck and hurt themselves.

  • Eli still moves around like crazy.  He used to get stuck and then I found the breatheable bumpers.  They totally help with this.

  • I second the breathable bumpers.  And it's definitely something they grow out of.  Mine pretty much snuggle into a spot and stay in it now.  But they used to do crib gymnastics all the time.
  • My LO still rolls around all over the place when I put her down.  She never goes in asleep, and I guess it just takes her a little while to get comfortable.

We bought some breathable bumpers after I found her like this one day...

    Hahahaha!

Thanks for all the breathable bumper suggestions. Definitely something I hadn't thought of!

  • And I should add that if they get stuck and don't like it... they'll let you know.  Especially if they are hurting!

  • Mine is almost 2 and still flops all over the place, but it only happens in the middle of the night when he stirs.  This is the #1 thing scaring me about moving him to a big boy bed.  He has NO sense of the head or foot of the bed, etc.  He would need rails ALL the way around!
