Mine is a two-part vent, but it requires some explanation first.

DH and I were married in last year in a civil ceremony. A few of my family was there, and some very close friends (and the internets) know that we're not engaged.  We're having a "wedding" in the beginning of July for his family (his mom mostly) and friends. It's going to be really simple, on the roof of our apartment overlooking the lake and it'll be really fun. No walking down the aisle, no being given away, cookies instead of cake... It'll be nice.

-Part one of the vent: I ordered a really elegant, 50s inspired bridesmaid dress to wear in Ivory. I wanted something short, so I could wear fabulous shoes and whatnot since it's SO casual. It's a dupioni silk and I ordered from a  company we don't carry in my store (I work in Bridal).

The dress came yesterday and it's  not lined. It's an effing WHITE, silk dress with no lining. Luckily we're a  full-service salon so my boss can fix it for me, but I paid almost $350 for a dress that didn't even come with lining. It's too late  for the company to fix it so they're refunding part of my money and I'm having my boss put a new lining in it.

-Part two of the vent: The dress doesn't fit. I have very odd proportions. I'm a (bridal) bust 4, waist 8, hip 12. The sample I tried on was a 10, and it fit just fine, except for a tiny bit of pulling in the hip. I ordered a 12 so it could lay correctly. 

It doesn't fit. My boss knows I'm pregnant. She's going to rip the whole skirt off and replace  it with a fuller  one. I've only gone up a pound or two, and it's bloat, but still.

I'm just feeling down about the entire situation. I hope you all have something juicer than I do.

    Awww that is sad, I'm sorry! Just out of curiosity though, Isn't it you in your siggy pic? Is that's not your wedding pic?

    It's a photo snapped on the day we had our civil ceremony. I was in a white sundress and put a cute birdcage on from my salon on. So, yes and no. We only have a few photos from that day.

     Ok, I was going to say, it totally looks like a normal wedding photo! (Totally awesome hat! LOVE 20's-40's era)

    1.  I am drinking a diet coke.  I am dog tired and it's the only way I will make it to the end of the school day since my kids are taking a test and I am sitting here about to doze off in front of them.

     2.  Last night I was this close  to ordering almost $90 worth of maternity clothes online at Old Navy.  Like, the shopping cart was ready to go.  I stopped myself, though.

    I think spanking is lazy parenting.  I know, plenty of people swear it was the "only way" for their parents to deal with them because they were "so difficult".  I still think it's a copout and it makes me angry anytime I see a child spanked.  I don't care that it's "only on their bottom" or "the diaper cushions it, they don't feel anything" or "we were spanked and we turned out fine" - IMO it's degrading and shows your child that you have no respect for their person.

    I do this too.  Yes, I've cut back on caffeine, but when i need it, I drink my diet coke.  Doesn't do baby any good for mommy to fall asleep at the wheel.

    OMG, how frustrating.  I'm glad your boss can help you and that the company is giving you something of a refund.

    I'm sorry about your dress.

    Mine: I took a half-hour nap at 8:45 this morning, and I want to take another one right now.
