Baby Names

Help us with girl names!

DD is Julia. Our last name is very Italian (rhymes with Spaghetti). MN is to be decided... although we're leaning towards Geny (the G sounds like the G in "beige" but otherwise it sounds like Jenny--it's DH's godmother's name) if it goes well with the name we choose. Please tell me what you like!

Re: Help us with girl names!

  • I really like the name Eliana and if DH didn't dislike it, it'd be on our list for a girl. However, I'm not sure if I'd pair it w/ Genny...maybe maybe another variation of...like Eliana Genevieve (or maybe that's too French?)...I don't know, something along those lines....

    HTH!

ETA: Also, if your last name sounds like Spaghetti, I wouldn't go with Genny for first or middle name...Genny Spaghetti...sounds kinda sing-songy.

Eliza or Clara both sound very pretty with Julia, IMO.

I think Geny is pretty, but I like pp suggestion of Genevieve (still an homage to the godmother, even though it isn't the exact name).  It seems to flow better as a mn.  But if Geny is your choice I still think it is lovely.

  • I like Mila. Very cute :)

  • I like Eliza, its my sister's name. I also like Mila and Myla.
  • I've gotta say that it was really hard to pick just one.  Your choices are beautiful!

  • Uhm, you guys aren't making this easy! Wink

I think we're leaning toward Eliana, with Mila in second. So not too far off from the votes! As much as I love Gianna, it sounds too matchy with Julia... just because if we had a 3rd child I'd feel like I needed a name with similar sounds (the "J" and "A" sounds).
