I have applied you both religiously for like 30 weeks now. Massaging you into my belly every morning and night. You made my clothes smell oddly tropical and my hands a little greasy.
How I foolishly believed you'd prevent stretch marks, that I'd be one of the like mere 20% of women who are lucky enough to somehow avoid them.
Um, nope, I was wrong. Stretch marks are blooming like a mini tiger attacked my belly. They aren't THAT bad yet--a thick dark pink one here and there, and a small, faint patch of them around my belly button. But man, I can only imagine what it'll be like after seven more weeks of growing.
Oi. I suppose I should just convince myself that maybe it'd be much worse if I hadn't even applied you in the first place...
Re: Eff you, cocoa butter and Bio Oil!
Boo to stretch marks! But, I think they are hereditary, right? I didnt think there was anything you could really do about them except make them lighter--like PP said.
BLOG: The Quinntessential Mommy
Yes, I know logically there is absolutely nothing you can do to prevent them. The lotions and creams just make your skin more hydrated in general, and what you get is what you get because it is pretty much all hereditary.
My mom didn't get stretch marks during any of her three pregnancies, though, so I thought this genetic godsend in tandem with my regimented oiling and lotion-ing would maybe get me through.
I'm not THAT disappointed, as mine really aren't too bad, and I was not like sporting bikinis pre-pregnancy and surely won't be after pregnancy. I am sure however my belly ends up, it'll be worth it for the baby. It just sucks and I like to whine.
Yup, blame your parents.
