We have both of them and I don't want to open one if we use the other. DD is exclusively breastfed and I pump into the Medela bottles so that DH or ILs can take care of her while I leave the house. She takes the Medela just fine but she does get more gassy with bottles.
When she starts up day care in July and getting bottles more regularly I want to make sure she is getting a bottle that will not contribute to her gas. So if you have experience with one or both, thoughts? I know one complaint about the Dr. Brown's is all the parts to them but I haven't heard too much about the tommee tippee (we didn't register for them but a British friend said they are all the rage there or something)
Re: Which bottles - Dr. Brown's or tommee tippee?
The TT was too high-flow for L. But I still have it and will give it a try again. DrBs had too many parts - I didn't need the extra cleaning overhead - and the preemie nipple was too high-flow. I ended up using the DrB (minus the guts) as my pumping and fridge storage bottles. And now I use the 8oz ones as my formula shaking bottles.
The Playtex Ventaire had the slowest flow nipple we could find so we use that bottle. L is far less gassy, oddly, since we switched to formula.
BFP with no treatment!
We used Dr. Browns with Grant, and also have been with Brady. They are a lot of parts, but they really work well. Also, fwiw, when we were at Women's and Brady was in the NICU, the babies that were not being tube fed and were close to going home were being fed with Dr. Brown's, so I figure that speaks volumes. The occupational therapist told us she thought they were the best on the market.
