My on island Dr. won't see me until week 10-12 and he's off island until my week 11. Is this normal? If I were back in the states, my Dr. there, would see me at 8w.
I guess I'm just worried it's a little long off. Thoughts?
They drs here won't see us until 10-12 weeks either. My appt is 10 weeks exactly.
Are there any other drs. you can see at 10 weeks, just so you don't have to wait?
There are not many on island that have good reputations, (heard horror stories about missed Pre-E and other stuff) and all the other "good" ones don't do "just prenatal", since I'll be delivering at home in the states (going home for 3rd Tri). Bummer. But at least I'm not the only one that has to wait.
I think it's between the normal range. My doctor said she doesn't see patients until 8-10 weeks. I asked to be scheduled on my 8th week (my appointment is on June 8th)
I apararntly se my doc super early. confirmation visit is monday i'll be mid 5th week (roughly) and the first US will follow shortly there after. I'm assuming it's because i'm in a small town. being high risk I can get an appointment at the drop of a hat though..?
But i wouldnt worry.. I mean if there is an issue I'm sure you can get care in a pinch.. but at the same time in these early weeks there's really not a whole lot for a doctor to see or do. you dont need the doc to be present to order any needed blood work, so you can see a gp for that if you wanted to. Unfortunately in these first few months there's not alot a doc can do unless you need hormone supplementing, it's just watching progress. and if you are progressing normally you shouldnt let it worry you. remember women used to have perfectly healthy babies all the time only seeing the doctor in the third trimester if at all. and without the convenience of home pregnancy tests you probably wouldnt even really know you were pregnant til 8-10 weeks anyway... nature is more than capable of taking care of baby it kind of chalks up to one of things where, if you cant change it, why sweat it?

That's pretty normal around here too. With DD#1 my first appointment wasn't until 10 weeks.

I'll be almost 9 weeks at my first appointment. Kaiser gave me a range of 8-11 weeks to come in for my first appointment. I wouldn't worry.
