my son is 3 and he still uses it but only when we are on vacation. He weighs 34lbs. He can climb in and out and all....but I think he feels safer in it then in a big bed that he is not familiar with.
Nicky was about 18 months old when we stopped using the pnp for him. At the time he was about 24lbs and 30 inches tall. The reason I stopped using it was not because he had outgrown it in size, but because he didn't want to be confined in it an longer. He never really liked playing in it, I just used it to put him in there when I took a shower, mopped the floor, went to throw the trash out, etc. When he was an infant, I used the bassinet feature and changing table feature, which was convenient because I kept it in the family room and didn't have to go all the way into his bedroom to change him or put him down for a nap.
I have two pnp's. The one we have in our family room is a Chicco. It is very heavy and has a ton of parts and would not be easy to travel with. For that purpose, I have a cheaqpy Evenflo. It doesn't have a changing table, but is extremely light and easy to pack up.
Zachary is 18 months, about 34-35 inches (maybe?) and about 29lb and we use our pack n play every single day! In fact he is chilling in there right now watching Nick Jr and playing with some toys.
I would not get ANY work done if he did not play or nap in the pack n play!
We have an awesome, HUGE pack n play by Graco which I absolutely love. I wrote a review of it on my blog pretty recently. Click here to read it.
Max hasnt used one since he was about 12 months old, in fact I sold it just after the new year. I'm very particular about not confining my kids to small spaces like that and much prefer to have my house child proofed so that they can roam free. I dont use it for vacations either, most hotels will bring you a crib if you request for one.
