Hawaii Babies

days like this blow

This is when twins are hard. I fed Dash first, then he screamed his head off the entire time I was feeding Will. But I can't hold him and nurse Will at the same time, and Will would have screamed if I stopped feeding him, so I had to leave Dash there (I did lean over to pat him and talked to him). Then I had to cut Will's cuddle time short to pick up Dash, who got quiet right away - he just wanted to be held.

It's so crappy...I feel like no one wins and neither get the attention they deserve. Sad

  • Sorry it hasn't been a good day for you. Sometimes I get overwhelmed and start crying while trying to quiet J down. And he's only one baby!! Hang in there, Lisa. I hope tomorrow is a better day for all of you. =)

Ha! The last time I did this, it actually quietened Dash down! I was feeling so overwhelmed and started sobbing really loudly and he turned and looked at me with this, "What the hell, lady? This is MY crying time!" expression on his face and settled right down! I guess my ugly cry face was more entertaining than his hysterics lol.

  • Hang in there, Lisa(s)!  I lose it with the cats sometimes (when they're crying/meowing and I have no idea what they want) so I can't imagine how challenging times like these must be.

  • Aweee, I'm sorry. Hang in there and I hope tomorrow will be a better day for all of you!! :)
  • Sorry to hear that today was rough on you. Hopefully tomorrow will be better :)
  • I am sorry Lisa, I cannot even imagine.  One idea...can you wear one while you nurse the other?  Like put Dash on you a sling/wrap while you nurse Will?  That way he's "held" but your arms are free to nurse.  Just a thought, not sure if it would work.  I know with small babies you can do a secured high back carry (SHBC) as well, but that might be a PITA.  Then it again, it might just work! If it would work for you, that would be awesome...one fed baby snugged high on your back and the ability to nurse the other one easily.
  • tomorrow will be better!

    Hugs to you!

Hmmm I hadn't thought of this! I might have to give it a try if it happens again!

Oooh!  Please let me know how it goes if you do.  I'd be curious to know if it works for you.  Also, a bumpie named ATLBRIDE23 on the AP board has twin daughters, is BFing and also wears them a lot.  You might check out her posts to see how she handles some of the stuff that's a challenge for you right now.
