Re: ?Mamas & Mamas to Be: Weekly Check-in?
Libby is 16 weeks, 3 days old. She'll be 4 months old on Tuesday.
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
Second full week back at work and I am not crying anymore...yay! Libby is doing well with being home with daddy and/or grandma while I am at work. I have been feeling a little stressed about travel for work coming up this summer and in the fall, but my mom has decided that she'll just come with me so I can bring Libby. Yay for my awesome mom!
Libby continues to grow...we just moved her into 9-12 month clothing. And she's a little smarty pants...she can turn the pages of her board books when we read them to her. She's also moving like crazy when we place her in her ARCs or crib...it's so funny (most of the time...) to find her in various, strange positions after we've put her down to sleep. I did get scared though to find her leg stuck out between two slats of her crib. So now I am contemplating bumpers.
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
Her fourth month appt. was just rescheduled to June 14! Oh well, I think I'll measure her length and weight on my own next Tuesday so I can record it in her book for her.
(4) What is one BR thing that you learned this week?
The four month "wakeful" is true.
Also, that babies' brains process their developmental milestones between 3-4 a.m. which is why it is common to find babies babbling, "crawling", etc. in their cribs at that hour.
(5) What BR website, blog, book, etc. are you loving right now?
I find myself referring to kellymom.com at least daily.
(6) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?
See #4 above. Libby just wants to party, party, party right now! Who needs sleep when there's so much to see and do?
(7) Is your LO the first grandbaby in your family? DHs? If not, how many other cousins will/does your LO have? Are they close in age or not so much?
First biological grandchild on both of J's side of the family...stepchildren that are older teens...so this is the first baby. One my side, Libby's the eighth grandbaby for my dad and step-mom (#7 is only one month older) and the third grandbaby for my mom. My brother's kids are 12 and 8, so Libby is not close in age at all.
It sort of makes me sad because on my mom's side of the family there are 14 cousins-- 7 boys and 7 girls-- and we all grew up together (the eldest is 5 years older than me and the youngest is 10 years younger than me, so were all quite close...more like brothers and sisters than cousins. I am sad Libby won't have that...
(8) What questions would you like to see in upcoming check-ins?
TTCers: Which cycle are you on? Where in the cycle are you? What, if anything, are you doing/trying for TTC success?
Mamas: What have you done lately just for you? Are you able to find some balance between being a mom, a wife and an individual?
Still working on this since right now I feel like my life is 1) mom and 2)employee. When I am not at home, I am at work and when I am home it's 100% baby. My mom's work schedule just changed and she gets home between 5-6 pm during the week (it was around 9 pm) so I am going to see if she'd be willing to watch Libby for a half-hour in the evenings once or twice a week so I can do something for myself.
We shall see...I feel guilty for even wanting to do that since there are essentially only 8 hours in a day that I can spend with Libby during the week (the other 16 she's either asleep or I am at work or both) so it seems selfish to ask for another 30 minutes away from her so I can have some "me" time. But I really need it.

Elyse turned 5 months last week - not sure of the exact weeks?
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
I'm feeling pretty fantastic. Elyse has started sleeping better. The four month wakeful nearly killed me. I was beyond tired (I'm sure you guys can relate). I was ready to move to crazy town.
Here is a little tale from my life during the 4 month wakeful: I was doing a load of Elyse's diapers and I knocked the tide off the washer - it spilled all over the rug in the laundry room (concrete floors). I just picked up the jug and walked away. I felt like if I dealt with it I was going to lose it. I think it was the healthiest decision I made. Russ was out of town and when he came home he cleaned it up.
Elyse is very deliberately rolling from her back to her tummy now. Which is funny to me because she hates tummy time, but when she gets there herself she seems to like it.
We went swimming again today and she LOVES it!! We did the blow in the face and dunk her - she did great.
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
We had her 6 month apt early because she had a strange rash all over her body. She's right on target for her 6 month milestones now.
(4) What is one BR thing that you learned this week?
That babies really do fart as loud as adults... the lady in Walmart didn't look like she believed it was Elyse though.
(5) What BR website, blog, book, etc. are you loving right now?
I have had great success with sleep training from "The Baby Whisperer - All Your Problems Solved." I really believe that Elyse sleeps better at night when she sleeps well during the day.
(6) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?
Guilt. I've started doing a weight program at the gym so I go right after Elle wakes up from her morning nap so that she's happy and awake. But I feel so guilty leaving her in the child minding there because they just sit her in a swing.
I know that it's good for her to be around other kids and really good for me to work out, but I feel selfish.
(7) Is your LO the first grandbaby in your family? DHs? If not, how many other cousins will/does your LO have? Are they close in age or not so much?
Elle is the first grandbaby on both sides so she is quite a novelty! My brother is getting married this summer, then they're going travelling for a year so I'm hoping that they get making babies shortly after!
(8) What questions would you like to see in upcoming check-ins?
Mamas: What have you done lately just for you? Are you able to find some balance between being a mom, a wife and an individual?
I feel like I'm balancing being a mom and an individual. It might be easier for me because I SAH. I make time to run, go to the gym and ensure Elle gets alot of interactive time with me and other babies.
I'm learning to cook - which is REALLY exciting to me. I've never been able to make good meals with ease. I'm PVRing a cooking show and making a few of the recipes each week. I feel like it makes me a good SAHM to take care of my family that way.
But I don't feel like I'm being a very good wife. I know this will come back in time though, right now I'm so consumed with everything else.
Married Bio
Married2MrWright, will you please add me to the Mama list? DD is Elaine May and she was born 9.20.07. Thanks!
(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?
Elaine is exactly 2 years and 8 months today!
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? I think I can safely say that DD is fully potty trained now. Today she went potty all by herself. Usually, I have to go in and help when she's finished, but today she did all by herself and even remembered to wash her hands!
(6) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?
Elaine has been very whiny and clingy this past week. I think it's because her good friend just moved away and so she doesn't really have anyone to play with here. I'm hoping a trip to the beach tomorrow will cheer her up.
(7) Is your LO the first grandbaby in your family? DHs? If not, how many other cousins will/does your LO have? Are they close in age or not so much? Elaine is the first grandchild on my side and the only granddaughter on DH's side (out of six!). My sister's daughter is 5 months younger than Elaine and they have the best time playing together.
Mamas: What have you done lately just for you? Are you able to find some balance between being a mom, a wife and an individual?
I'm a SAHM right now and I think because of that it's hard for me get some me time. DH's job is going to school and that takes up most of his time, so most days I don't get a break until Elaine is in bed. I actually prefer working, so that way I get some time for me. I am looking forward to later this summer when I'll be working and DH will no longer be in school.

This is Elaine playing at the kid's museum downtown:
30 weeks, 4 days
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
Well, it is Day 24 of laryngitis watch for me.....yuck! Although it is improving...I can speak much easier, but singing is still difficult. I'm starting to worry that this is how my voice will be for the remainder of the pregnancy.
At least there's only 2 more weeks of school!
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
Next appt. is on June 1st for 32 week checkup. In other news, my first shower (my work one) is tomorrow after school....yay! My family shower will be Memorial Day weekend, which is soon, too.
(4) What is one BR thing that you learned this week?
He doesn't seem to like it when I lie on my right side....he always kicks a ton when I do that! He calms right down when I turn over to my left side. Weird, huh?
(5) What BR website, blog, book, etc. are you loving right now?
I need to start reading some "baby" books, as opposed to "pregnancy" books, so I'm looking forward to reading what others have to say about this.
(6) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?
(warning.....a little bit of a vent coming!) Somewhat BR, but actually it's my relationship with MH that has been the challenge this week. I'm feeling so big and tired all the time, and we've been fighting about household chores a lot lately. For example, last weekend we agreed we needed to clean a little bit. I said "l'll do the bathrooms and mop the kitchen and dining room if you'll just vacuum the bedroom, hallway, guest room and family room." He agreed, then got the bedroom done and promptly took a 2-hour nap. Five days later, the rest of it still hasn't been done. I don't know how he thinks I can go back to work after baby, raise the baby, and keep the house clean by myself. We had a fight about it last night, and the next two nights he works 'til midnight, so I guess the conversation will be on hold 'til this weekend.
(7) Is your LO the first grandbaby in your family? DHs? If not, how many other cousins will/does your LO have? Are they close in age or not so much?
My brother and his wife have 3 girls (ages 11, 8, and 6), so he'll be the 4th, but the first grandson on my side. MH is an only child, so he'll be the 1st for that side.
It's kind of strange to me that my son will only have 3 (first) cousins. I grew up with 42 (that's right!) first cousins alone....not counting beyond that! My mom is one of 9, and my dad is one of 6, and all my aunts and uncles have several children. Christmas at Grandma's (the side with 25 cousins) is usually about 75 people, and not everyone even comes.
(8) What questions would you like to see in upcoming check-ins?
Nothing specific I can think of at the moment.....that's awesome! i would love to have such a big family get-together for holidays. i have 4 cousins on my mom's side, 2 of which are much (15+ years) younger and live overseas, so it was really just the 4 of us (me, my sister, the other 2) growing up. and all my dad's family lives overseas, so i didn't even meet those cousins for the first time until about 5 years ago!
13 weeks, 5 days
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
erm, okay. i think i'm eating too much - i'm hungry all. the. time. (I think?) and i'm gaining weight pretty quickly...biggest news is that we started telling people last week! we're still working on telling everyone, most of our friends still don't know - it's going to take us a few weeks, as we're mostly waiting to tell in person.
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
June 8, just some blood (follow-up from the NT scan) and a regular monthly appt
(4) What is one BR thing that you learned this week?
Nothing really is standing out right now...
(5) What BR website, blog, book, etc. are you loving right now?
Still just reading what I started with - Mayo Guide. Will start on Pregnancy, Childbirth, and the Newborn soon.
(6) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?
Not too much really, just tired. MH has been really good about helping around the house after i had a mini-meltdown the other week, from being exhausted and stressed about how much needed to be done at home. Other than that, just the eating thing - my stomach is always uncomfortable - i can never tell if i'm too hungry or too full. It's really strange...
(7) Is your LO the first grandbaby in your family? DHs? If not, how many other cousins will/does your LO have? Are they close in age or not so much?
Yup! The first for both sides(8) What questions would you like to see in upcoming check-ins?
I actually had thought of something in passing the other day, but can't remember now...will update if i remember it!this was my favorite book - we actually brought it to the hospital w/us because I liked the labor technique section so much. Wish it didn't have such a lame picture on the cover, looks like a new one is coming out this summer. I found it at a local thrift shop for $1 (probably because they thought it was from the early 90's) so I can't complain.
(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO? 13 weeks old tomorrow.
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? went back to work on monday (full time). it wasn't as hard as I expected - I totally miss my little guy all day but it's so great to see how excited he is when I'm home plus I love my job and being back has helped me remember all over again why I do what I do.
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? nothing coming up
(4) What is one BR thing that you learned this week? babies rolling over can be a PITA. Jack has slept though the night for so long that I forgot what it's like to have to wake up a couple of times. He will roll himself over and then wake up mad and I have to console him back to sleep.
(5) What BR website, blog, book, etc. are you loving right now? kellymom (as always), had MIL read some sections of the Dr. Sears breastfeeding book and that is about it.
(6) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week? going back to work, getting less sleep b/c of the rolling, and not entirely BR - having MIL living with us.
(7) Is your LO the first grandbaby in your family? DHs? If not, how many other cousins will/does your LO have? Are they close in age or not so much? First grandchild and great grandchild on my side and second grandchild (first boy) for my husband's side, but we don't live near them.
I wish he would had lots of cousins to play with but I don't think he will b/c my sibs won't have kids anytime soon. I doubt my cousins will either since I'm 6 years older than all of them and none are in (serious) relationships... but I guess you never know
.
(8) What questions would you like to see in upcoming check-ins?
Mamas: What have you done lately just for you? Are you able to find some balance between being a mom, a wife and an individual? now that I'm back to work it will be harder b/c I might feel guilty going to the gym in the evenings when I am gone all day.

(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?
16w6d
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
I'm feeling pretty good. My appetite has certainly picked up, which I'm trying to keep in check. I'm not as tired this week as I was last week. I've felt a little more pressure than usual in my abdomen, but no movement yet.
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
Big u/s on Monday morning at 9AM!!! I've been counting down the days for 7 weeks now!
(4) What is one BR thing that you learned this week?
I learned a lot about cribs and other baby sleeping options this week. It doesn't seem like there are a lot of options on Oahu.
(5) What BR website, blog, book, etc. are you loving right now?
I have my Mayo Guide and someone recently gave me the Dr. Sears Baby Book, which I have yet to open. I'm not ready to do much more research at this point (websites, blogs). I find that I get really overwhelmed. I'll get there when I get there.
(6) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?
Coming to terms with the fact that, as of right now, Baby won't have a nursery.
We simply do not have the space in our 2-bedroom townhouse. I was really looking forward to playing around with color schemes, furniture and other decor. For now, the plan is to have Baby sleep with us in our cozy MB. We're still planning to declutter and paint our 2nd bedroom (which is currently being used as an office/storage) so it will be ready for other possibilities in the future. Perhaps I can convince DH to move his computer out into our living room before Baby is born. But, he's in the IT field and his computer workspace is important. I respect that, but am hoping we can reach some kind of workable solution.
(7) Is your LO the first grandbaby in your family? DHs? If not, how many other cousins will/does your LO have? Are they close in age or not so much?
Yes, Baby T will be the first grandbaby for both of our families. My grandpa is also our last surviving grandparent on both sides and he is just thrilled to be a great-grandpa for the first time!
(8) What questions would you like to see in upcoming check-ins?
I know I had some, but can't think of them right now!
BONUS: PIP of your bump or LO or for TTCers, link to your chart!
I posted a bump pic on FB, which some of you have already seen. I also have some in my baby blog (in my siggy). I'll PIP when I get home.
ETA: Bump Pic
I think I actually got this rec from you from an old check-in that asked about favorite books
I put it on my amazon wishlist so i wouldn't forget, and then our midwife gave me a copy at our first appointment! so yeah, can't complain
yay for a new baby blog! I didn't realize you started one, but it's in my rss reader now
i hope the space issues work out - we're house-hunting right now, but if we don't end up moving, we'll have pretty much the same issue - baby will go in our bedroom. even though we have a 3BR townhouse, it's unlikely we'll move the office into the guest room (no space - you should see our office - it's a very cramped disaster zone), and there's no way we would turn the guest room into a nursery - it's two floors below our bedroom. so we'll see - it'll work out somehow!
(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO? They're 4 weeks, 2 days...where has the time gone?!
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? Me: other than crap body image issues, pretty good! It's still a novelty to be able to walk without gasping for air and to be able to wash and dry my feet by just bending over lol.
Will & Dash: They're becoming a lot more active, and more interactive! Ben says they're "getting personalities" now.
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? Just their (and my) 6 week check-up.
(4) What is one BR thing that you learned this week? That I can do this. Sounds lame I know, but I was seriously stressing about Ben going back to work. But today is Friday - we made it through the first week!
(5) What BR website, blog, book, etc. are you loving right now? Uhh...I'm not actually reading any BR stuff at the moment.
(6) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week? Juggling the boys when they both need attention at the same time. I don't think I do it very well at the moment...
(7) Is your LO the first grandbaby in your family? DHs? If not, how many other cousins will/does your LO have? Are they close in age or not so much? They're the first on my side, but #s 5 & 6 on Ben's (first boys though!). Ben's sisters are 14 and 10 years older than him, so for the most part the cousins aren't that close in age: the eldest sister's kids are all in their late teens - the middle sister had her child later in life so she's closer to our boys (3 yrs old).
(8) What questions would you like to see in upcoming check-ins? Lori - I have a bunch of questions that people either wrote here or I thought up before - do you want me to send them to you?
Mamas: What have you done lately just for you? Are you able to find some balance between being a mom, a wife and an individual? Struggling with this one! They take up SO much time...but I'm trying to do little things like always sitting and having a cup of tea at some point during the day just to re-center myself, by making sure Ben and I have a little cuddle time in the evening even if it's only 5 min, and thinking of something to do for ME (the new HI Nesties Book Club).
(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO? Ashton just turned 9 months old a week ago.
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? Tired....working full time is getting harder. Ashton is starting to crawl so getting dressed in the mornings is not any easier. Ashton is into everything. I just feel like I never had a moment to myself.
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? Not until Ashton's 1 year old well baby check up. His blood cells were small during his 9 month blood test. It could have been because he was just getting over a sickness so they will do another test in 3 months to determine if Ashton needs an iron supplement.
(4) What is one BR thing that you learned this week? Ashton has started to learn how to sit up from laying on his back. Now when he wakes during the middle of the night, he just sits up like he's been awake for hours. It's really weird, I just lay him back down and he falls back asleep.
(5) What BR website, blog, book, etc. are you loving right now? ??? I never have time to read anything. The only reason I am posting on this now is because Adam took Ashton to the beach for a bit,
(6) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week? Getting Ashton to fall asleep. I used to be able to nurse him down within minutes, but now he won't do that anymore. I think him crawling is a major milestone so it's disrupting his sleep, etc.
(7) Is your LO the first grandbaby in your family? DHs? If not, how many other cousins will/does your LO have? Are they close in age or not so much? For my family, yes. For DH's no. He is the first boy though. My BIL has a little girl who is 5 years old.
(8) What questions would you like to see in upcoming check-ins? Tips to get back to keeping my baby asleep. He wakes up 45 mins after I put him down for the night.
TTCers: Which cycle are you on? Where in the cycle are you? What, if anything, are you doing/trying for TTC success?
Mamas: What have you done lately just for you? Are you able to find some balance between being a mom, a wife and an individual? I had my hair cut yesterday.....besides that I don?t really have any time to myself. My mom visited for 3 weeks so that was nice to have help.
That would be awesome Nicole! Thank you so much for taking it on...see Lisa in Oz's note above about sharing a list of questions she's compiled from previous check-ins...

I read that when I was pg - something about the blood flows better when you are on your left side - that's how they tell women on bedrest to position themselves.
(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO? 17w5d
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? Still feeing good. Getting bigger everyday.
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? Anatomy scan/gender determination next Friday. Also, babymoon the day after that!
(4) What is one BR thing that you learned this week? Maternity stores are not very short/petite people friendly
. I was at the mall last night and decided to venture over to Motherhood Maternity. Their size "small" are way too big for me
. I ended up just buying loose tops at Macys' juniors section.
(5) What BR website, blog, book, etc. are you loving right now?
(6) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week? (TMI) I was constipated this morning. Ugh!
(7) Is your LO the first grandbaby in your family? DHs? If not, how many other cousins will/does your LO have? Are they close in age or not so much? First in my side of the family. Not for DH though. Although, his family has not had any "babies" in the family in a while.
(8) What questions would you like to see in upcoming check-ins?
Mamas: What have you done lately just for you? Are you able to find some balance between being a mom, a wife and an individual?
I had a prenatal massage last week. DH & I are leaving for our babymoon next weekend so I won't do anything but relax! I also work out pretty much every day during lunch time. I consider that my ME time.
(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?
6 months and 1 week-ish... I don't remember exactly but it's in my siggy
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
she has started imitating some sounds we make
I am still waiting for MAMA!!!
also still waiting for her to cut her first tooth.
we started rice cereal last week but barely had any in the milk, just to transition her... she took to spoon feeding very very well, I think in part b/c she had done some cup feeding prior. we'll start adding more rice cereal to the milk to where it's actually a thicker/pasty consistency, but not until I get a diaper sprayer for the CDs
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
next Sat is her 6 month visit
(4) What is one BR thing that you learned this week?
that not all car seats fit in all cars! i always thought that you don't buy a bigger model (i.e. Britax roundabout) for a small car but I thought that if you bought a standard sized convertible car seat it would fit it any car! we got one for the in laws to keep at their place when we went to SIL's last week and it wouldn't work in the minivan they had rented!! the angle of the seat was weird and we couldn't get the car seat in to where the car seat was angled forward instead of reclined for her. luckily it worked in the car so we just drove in separate vehicles...
(5) What BR website, blog, book, etc. are you loving right now?
I am always referring back to kellymom.com
for deals I am always checking babycheapskate.com
(6) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?
just dealing with managing our time while visiting with the in laws... I always feel rushed w/our nursing sessions and her naps when they are around b/c they are wanting to spend as much time w/her as possible...I normally let her nurse as long as she wants and nap until she wakes up on her own but I found myself cutting both short sometimes so she could spend more time w/them....it got to be kind of stressful for me even though I thought it would be more relaxing to have someone to "hand her off" to while I do other things or relax
(7) Is your LO the first grandbaby in your family? DHs? If not, how many other cousins will/does your LO have? Are they close in age or not so much?
yes, first grandchild in both families. she is the 9th great grandchild on my mom's side (my mom has 9 siblings)
(8) What questions would you like to see in upcoming check-ins?
I think I already gave those all to mrsnjswimmer when she first took over the check kin
Mamas: What have you done lately just for you? Are you able to find some balance between being a mom, a wife and an individual?
I've been back to baking a bit more lately
I try not to feel guilty about letting her self entertain as much as I used to...though I still don't think I spend as much time in the kitchen as I would have before.
I still don't think I've found a great balance but I am slowly getting better and better at it.
BONUS: PIP of your bump or LO or for TTCers, link to your chart!
I will try to post our 6 month prof pics soon

My Food Blog - Good Eats 'n Sweet Treats
aren't you supposed to try to lay mostly on your left side after week 17? I remember reading about that in the pregosaur blog...the baby's weight shifts and blocks your vena cava when you lay on your right so you're supposed to mostly lay on your left.... I just found the post, it's here

Yes, I agree with Jamie. I've read this in my books too. Laying flat on your back or right side are discouraged. It cuts off blood flow to the baby.
(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?
14 weeks + 1 day (3 months + 10 days)
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
Took her for more shots on Wednesday. Since it was a shot only visit they weren't gonna weigh her but I asked them to. She weighed 13 lbs 6 oz with clothes and diaper. So I'm guessing more like 13-3, which means she's gained over 2 lbs in a month.
Also, she is such a champ! She didn't cry at all with the first shot and literally cried for 2 seconds with the other. Then she was fine and happy again, like it never even happened.
She's starting to blow bubbles and loves to suck on her left index & middle finger or her right thumb. Her hands are pretty much constantly in her mouth now.
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
4 month well check in June.
(4) What is one BR thing that you learned this week?
That not all babies have regular sleep patterns. Kaya's sleep is SO erratic. I give up. Tuesday night she was up at 3:30, 6 & 8:30 or something. Wednesday night she only got up at 4:30. Last night she was up at midnight, 4:30, 5:30, and 8:30. I have no idea what her problem is so I have no idea how to solve it.
(5) What BR website, blog, book, etc. are you loving right now?
I'm going through all the sleep books still but a lot of them are not at all helpful. And a lot of them kind of say the same things.
(6) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?
Still sleep, I guess. It's a constant battle. She's okay with going to sleep but the multiple night wakings are driving me mad. I guess I should be glad that we no longer have to battle putting her down to sleep AND all the night wakings. One thing at a time, I guess.
(7) Is your LO the first grandbaby in your family? DHs? If not, how many other cousins will/does your LO have? Are they close in age or not so much?
Yes. I'm an only child so she's the only grandchild. On B's side, she is the first. Not sure if his brother will ever have kids as he is 36 and not married. So if we end up not having anymore kids, she may be the ONLY grandchild on both sides!
She only has one great grandparent - my grandma - and is the 10th great grandchild. So she has lots of cousins, ranging in age from 6 months-15 years.
(8) What questions would you like to see in upcoming check-ins?
??? I can never think of anything! Sorry.
Hmmmm...the only thing I've read is to stay off your back (to avoid blocking the vena cava). I read that left side is best, but either side is perfectly safe. I try to stay on my left, but once in a while, my neck gets too stiff I have to roll over for a bit.
yeah that is the advice I lived by. When I was on "take it easy" semi-bed rest the MWs said to lay on my side - said left was best (for edema/blood blow) but right was fine too, acknowledging that I would be pretty sore if I could only lay on my left.
I'm wondering if the kicks have more to do with the baby's position - have you ever checked out the baby mapping concept on spinningbabies . com? I was always able to figure out my baby's position once I got the hang of it. Pretty neat.
