Our son's name is going to be Xavier. Originally I wanted it as his middle name, but DH and I couldn't come up with a first name we like more. We live part time in CO and part time in Spain so we will go with two pronunciations, which makes things more complicated (we both go by two pronunciations also, so it will be "normal" in our household, we found it helps us transition from one country to another when we change our names). In Spain we will go with hav-ee-air (but only two syllables, I suck at phonetic spelling) and in American we will go with ex-a-vee-er (3 syllables). We will not be using the French pronunciation of zav-ee-a or za-vee-er. I care more that the middle name goes with the X pronunciation because he will be educated here and that is really the only time middle names are used

Our last name is one syllable, starting and ending with s. For the life of me, I cannot find anything that I like that goes with it. Ideas??

Re: Middle Names for Xavier
Xavier is our son's middle name. It's a family name, on my husband's side (he is Swiss so it is pronounced the French Zave-ee-er). We went with Luke Xavier.
As for MN's that go with Xavier I like:
-Xavier Joseph
-Xavier Ryan
-Xavier Kent
-Xavier Paul
-Xavier Michael
-Xavier Francis.
Xavier James
Xavier Matthew
Xavier Lucas
Xavier Harrison
Xavier Thomas
Xavier Gray
Xavier Roman
Xavier Bennett
Xavier Vincent
Xavier Thomas and Xavier Ryan are my favorites listed.
Xavier Allan
Xavier Andrew
My SIL just named her baby boy Xavier James (pronounced za-vee-er).
