Not crazy about many names with the -son ending for a girl.
If you are going for calling her Emmy for short some names that could work are: Emery, Emily, Emma, Emeline or even Emelia.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

We plan on naming our baby Emerson if it's a girl... it's the only name we can agree on for a girl and we both love it! Never considered it a boys name...
Emerson is making a strong showing on these boards, and I think it will eventually wear us down, but for now, I don't care for it as a girl's name. I agree with the pp who said 'son' in a girls name. I mean, the definition is "son of ______".
I like the name Emerson, but not necessarily as a girl's name. I have seen it being used more and more (especially on these boards) as a girl's name though.
I have posted this name and seen it posted tons lately! We ditched the name after saying it out loud a lot. It's pretty, but we decided against, and I'm glad we did because it seems that it is becoming one of the trendy names

Whoa. your name is Emily and you are naming your daughter Emerson? That would be too similar for me.

It was actually my first pick but DH said we weren't naming our child after an appliance manufacturer. So, we went with Addison. I have no issue with the fact that DD's name means, "Son of Adam".
I think it's absolutely awful. Terrible for a girl, but not good for a boy either. I think if you picture someone meeting your child for the first time, not knowing his/her gender, when they heard the name Emerson and image would come to mind and it certainly wont be one of a pretty little girl.

I think Emerson is a very pretty name, actually.
The -son thing never bothered me (probably, as I said in another post, because I am an Allison and I love my name).
