video monitors
Baby bargains rec'd a summer infant one, but it said color was only $119. The only color ones I have seen are a minimum of 179.99. Target has a summer secure one with temperature readings for I think 159. I'm getting so confused though--one website will have a monitor ranked 2 1/2 stars, and then another it will be 5.
Is the 1.8" screen too small? Todd liked the 99.99 black & white one b/c it had a bigger screen, but it's reviews aren't good. I really don't think anyone is going to get us a $300 one! I'm also irked that a lot of the monitors are only in store or only online.
Any advice?

We have this one
It has a 1.8" screen and it is plenty big. If it is cheaper to do B/W vs color, I'd do B/W. You can't even tell anything is in color when the blinds/curtains are closed (which is obviously all the time you are using the monitor). It didn't get great reviews, but I love it.
We have the $300 one. This one. Scott is the one that put it on our registry because he likes high tech stuff and it was his "one" thing on the registry he really wanted. I never thought anyone would buy it. Turns out a bunch of people at work went in together and bought it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I know it's excessive, but I swear it is half the reason I have as much sanity as I do left. I have the big screen in our bedroom and the little hand held one is in the kitchen/carry around the house.
I would have never forked out the $$ for it myself but am glad someone else did!
We have this one - (fyi it's the color and it's listed on Amazon for $115.00 - I think we paid $160 for it)
This is the 1.8 screen and I am perfectly happy with it (though neither DH or I are that techy). It is color - but at night it's b/w and I don't really think the color is that much better. I love how portable it is - we travel with it even. This has been one of my favorite baby items and would highly reccomend it!!!
I like it better than the previous ones posted (I also had the ones above and returned it) because I had this one first and you can pan around the room - up, down, left, right and I got spoiled by it. When I went to get a 2nd one I got the other one and didn't like it. LOVE this one though.
