We still have him in his bassinett in our room. It is a pack n play bassinett. With him still waking up about 2-3x per night we haven't attempted crib yet. Plus I really like having him close by. As I think about this I really thing we MUST immediately start putting him in crib for naps. MIL watches him in the mornings and unfortunately it is hard to get her on board...she either holds him or puts him on couch for his 2 AM naps....

Re: Is my 5mth old the only one still not sleeping in his crib??
We do naps in cribs or swing (that's daycare not me, but I make them do 1 nap a day in the crib at least) and initial falling asleep in crib. Then when we go to bed around 11:00 I nurse him and then bring him to either our bed or his packnplay beside our bed.
I just said to DH this morning that maybe we will try the crib all night tonight...... but now I'm not thinking so much that will happen tonight.
My 5 month old hasn't even taken a nap in his crib. We've come a long way though-he wouldn't sleep laying flat in the beginning because he had reflux, so he was in the carseat for a while to sleep until we bought the fisher price rock n play sleeper. We've been able to transition him to his bassinet in the past week (praise jesus, the kid can finally sleep laying flat without screaming in pain), we're going to move the bassinet into his own room this weekend, and probably start naps in the crib next week.
We JUST started working on him sleeping in his room in his crib and I am a walking zombie! He now wakes up 2x a night and I have my ear glued to the monitor, I think I wake up every hour out of a dead sleep to make sure he is still breathing. I usually bring him into bed with us after he wakes up for the second time at 2am
Also this is our reason as well. His bedroom is on the first floor and ours is upstairs.
My DD is almost 5 months and she won't be sleeping in her crib until she's 6 month old. The only reason for this is because our bedroom is upstairs and her bedroom is down stairs, and we are going to be moving soon (July 1st) and both of our bedrooms will be on the same level. I didnt like the set up of our condo, so thats why DD is still sleeping in our room.
My DD i still waking up 2-3x's a night too. I think I read some where its because babies who are constantly being put to sleep by being held or w/ a bottle don't know how to put themselves back to sleep w/out that stuff. I am guilty of putting DD to sleep at the breast, sometimes I'll get lucky and be able to put her to sleep w/out anything, I just need to try it more often, and I need to start getting her to take naps in her crib that way she gets use to it for when we do move. Good luck. I just wanted to let you know you weren't the only one!
Nope, you're not alone! I'm a worrier, and when I read that the risk of SIDS decreases when LO sleeps in the same room for the first six months, that was it for me. She's still in the co-sleeper. She's a great sleeper, though (with the exception of the hateful 4 month wakeful:)
We're going to the beach in three weeks, so she'll have to sleep in the PNP there. I'm nervous because she's never slept in it before. She took some catnaps in the bassinet part when she was a few days old (that's where we originally planned for her to sleep). She wasn't having it, though.
Guess we need to try her out for a night or two in the PNP. We've all been sick around here, and I've had a concussion, so it hasn't exactly been one of my priorities. I'm sad when I think of her not sleeping in the room with us:( Guess we'll be going to the crib after vacation.
My LO sleeps in the PNP and in bed with me still. I don't feel bad. I will miss it when he actually goes to sleep in the nursery.
He still wakes up multiple times at night. My biggest bargaining chip with my dh is that the dog still sleeps in our room too:)
