I agree!! I threw a baby shower for SIL in October, and probably about 15 people didn't RSVP. We ran out of tables and were lowww on food. I looked like a bad host.
We had 75 people RSVP for our wedding ... 130 showed up. Not a single person from my MIL side RSVP and that's a HUGE group of people. There's a big difference between 75 and 130 when you're on a budget and feeding people.

ME TOO. I am so fricken irritated by this issue right now. My wedding is in TWO days and I still have people that can't respond with yes or no. I've asked many times. It kills me. If you don't RSVP, you're not getting a seat. And if you show up anyway its going to be YOUR job to get yourself a place setting cuz I refuse to deal with it. You should've followed instructions. Whew, thanks for giving me an outlet to vent! LOL

I would effin KILL.
Guess who was first in line at the food table too? That's when my drinking started. They're extremely inconsiderate all the time.. but that just took the cake. One even asked me why we didn't have enough food. At that point my MIL pulled her and all the family to the side and told them to stop eating. It was rude, but not as rude as what they did.
True story: I had a friend who thought it means "Remove Shoes Very Properly" for years. Someone finally explained the correct term to her a few years ago.

We invited 100 people, around 90 responded. My mother called the other 10, and one or two gave her a "maybe." My sister's wedding has 250 people invited. I'd hate to have to call 50-ish people who probably won't send the RSVP card back.

That's what I did. You have more important things to do! BTW congratulations! My 1 year wedding anni is coming up and I can still feel the excitement I experienced the week before the wedding!
Thanks! I'll be so happy to just kick back and enjoy life after this weekend.. Its been a hectic 3 months of planning and pregnancy hormones. These non-RSVPers don't even know that I might fly right off the handle if they say a single word to me about finding a seat! LOL

I hate people who RSVP that they will be attending and don't bother to show up! We had a bunch of no-shows at our wedding...my mother was really annoyed....when we were doing the shower list she made sure that I was not inviting any of the people who did not show up for the wedding (or bridal shower).

I HAD to get in on this........My hubby just had a 30th party for me in march.....and let me tell you.....I WAS PIST!!!!!!! There was sooo much food left over b/c half the people that DID rsvp.....DIDN'T SHOW UP!!! That was like oooooohhhhh over 75 people!!! Talk about rude and a huge waste of money on food. We actually had so much left over that we had to take it to a shelter b/c I didn't want it to go to waste! People SUCK!
Oh my god I know!! My shower is this weekend and only about half has called to RSVP. I texted a few of my close friends casually asking if they were coming and they said "yeah of course!!" I wanted to be like "okay well it would have been GREAT to know, RSVP isn't on there just for looks"
I think its just so rude, we want to know the amount of people so we can plan for food. UGH! Hormones are getting the best of me lol

The term RSVP comes from the French expression "r?pondez s'il vous pla?t", meaning "please respond".
