3rd Trimester

They finally figured it out...

My workplace blocked facebook...so no more FB for me while I'm here. Thankfully I don't think a lot of people know about (or would use) the bump, so I'm thinking I'll be spending a LOT more time here from now on. Reason # 5682365533 that I'm excited about having a year off once LO arrives!

  • That stinks!  I would be very sad if my work blocked facebook :(

  • HaHa... Our work blocked FB, FailBlog, and Awkward Family Photo.  Needless to say, there are a lot of people in their twenties at my office.

  • if you go to m.facebook you can usually bypass any blocks...not that I would encourage such behavior Devil
  • Haha, my work blocked FB last year already, so I'm used to it! Now I just spend a ridiculous amount of time on here - tomorrow is my last day, so hopefully no one discovers how unproductive I've been in the last 8 months or so...

And yay for 12 months off! I can't wait either...

  • The mobile site just doesn't do it for me like the regular site :( Ah well, the bump will more than fill my void I'm sure.

I'm so jealous of all you fine ladies going off on mat leave already! It's making me question my "work till baby comes" plan...Ah well, only 7 or so more weeks. Whomp, whomp.

  • A year? I knew you gals got longer up in CA, but didn't realize HOW MUCH longer. That is too cool! I'm soooo jealous! So how does that work? Do you get full pay? Job protection? Wow, the US is waaaaay behind the times on maternity leave and vacation. I get 8 weeks of full pay off, and that is actually alot for the US. Standard maternity leave is 6 weeks, and many people even have to take it unpaid.

  • Yep, a year. The gov't pays 55% (I believe) of your wage for the year and luckily my work bumps it up to 96% of my pay for the year with job protection as well. I definitely am grateful that we have it so good up here!
