I just pulled a flea off of my shirt. Ugh. What do you think is the best flea medicine for dogs? We've done Frontline and Comfortis. Also, is there anything I can clean my carpet with to kill fleas that will be safe for JH to be around?
We use frontline plus and have never had a problem with fleas. I've heard you can cut up a flea collar and put it in your vacuum cleaner to help kill flees. I probably would go with a professional company to clean the carpet and upholstery.
we just buy the walmart type that goes down their backs. We dont really have any problems with it. My memas dog on the other hand got infested with them year before last, and it took them for ever to get rid them. The vet kept giving their dog a pill that kills them in like 30 min. but they ended up having to have an exterminator come to their house like 3 times to finally get rid of them. We avoided them like the plaque during that time, didnt want to bring any home with us. She got them from her outdoor dog that wasnt being treat but they really took to her house dog.
At the vet school, we recommend Comfortis, Vectra and Frontline. Frontline was actually developed at Auburn, but fleas are starting to build an immunity to it.
I would NEVER use the store brands. We have had so many animals come in with burns from that junk.

we *just* switched to comfortis last week, only because we changed vets and that's what they carry. glad to know you guys recommend it!
