1st Trimester

Ok, who takes Zofran?

I think I need to buckle down and start taking it. A friend gave me her leftover pills (don't worry, I'm checking with my doc to make sure I can take someone elses Rx first...)

I'm a hot nauseous mess and I'm down about 7 lbs.

What side effects have you experienced?

The bottle warns of dizziness, headache, and drowsiness. Like I need to be more tired.

Re: Ok, who takes Zofran?

  • I take it and it is AMAZING!! but worste side effect is it makes your VERY VERY constipated.

  • Constipation. Horrible, horrible constipation.

I recommend lots of apple juice.

I didn't notice dizziness, headaches or drowsiness though.

I take it occasionally (not on a regular basis - yet) and have no issues with side effects.  Not even the dreaded constipation.

  • Ditto the constipation.  If I just take it once then I'm fine.  But if I take it two days in a row I'm in trouble.  Colace is your friend if you need to take Zofran often.

  • I'm taking it twice a day, no sides effects whatsoever except the constipation...........that is bad in itself but rather that than the nausea........wish they gave it to me a lot sooner than 9 weeks....
  • pretty sure your Dr. will tell you not to take someone a prescription that is for someone else.  However zofran only comes 2 ways, dissolve and non-dissolve.  so, even if they tell you not to take it because it belongs to someone else...check the expiration date and you should be A OK

  • I didn't get any of those symptoms while taking it. I did have a very dry mouth and had to drink lots and lots of water!! Which of course means extra potty breaks.
  • I'm on Phenergan which has the same side effects. I'm sooooo tired I fall asleep at work sometimes. No dizziness. Horrid constipation- nothing is helping that situation.

Puking is down quite a bit- thought I was in the clear, then changed a poopy diaper tonight and lost it. UGH.

    GL!

She isn't exaggerating. It does. I take colace along with it.

  • I took it with my first until 20 weeks. I personally wouldn't call it a miracle drug but it did help take the edge off. Major major constipation and bad headaches were my side effects.
