Does anyone have outside cleaners come in to their home? I feel like in the past I was fine getting everything accomplished, but this year I am horrible! Working full time and taking care of Allie makes me feel like my house is on the back burner. I know summer is coming up in two weeks and I will be home. I told my husband I should be fine during that time, but I would really like to consider hiring outside help once I go back in August. I absolutely hate having to schedule a time to clean my house, then it ends up taking an entire day.
Any advice or tips for this working mom? Also, if you live in the Birmingham area, can you recommend someone (and if you don't mind giving me a price estimate.) TIA!
Re: House cleaning
We used to have a housekeeper come every other week to do our house. We stopped having her clean last summer, shortly after Kennedy was born because we had to tighten our budget.
I do miss having a housekeeper. Our house is not nearly as clean as it used to be. Heck, most of the time I'm doing well to have the beds made, laundry done and clutter put away.
I would love to hire someone to come maybe once every couple months just to do the deep cleaning - the floorboards, the dusting, washing the windows, etc.

We have someone come every other week and it's been wonderful, especially with being pregnant and working all the time. I had some of my friends recommend this woman and thus far she's wonderful. I don't think she's taking on any new clients right now, but I'll ask her.
Her prices are reasonable and she always does little extras too. We might have to cut her out once the baby is born, however I really hope that we can somehow budget other areas and keep her, because she'll be a lifesaver once the baby is here. GL.
I have just recently hired a really sweet, older couple to clean our house. I have never had anyone do it before...always did it myself. But, since getting pregnant on top of taking care of Caleb and running Haley all over town all the time, I just felt like the house was getting neglected. I'm kind of a freak about it. I get in a really bad mood when our house is dirty. I start to feel overwhelmed and just irritated. I love having a clean house. Even before hiring them, I was able to keep up things like the kitchen, making our bed, laundry, picking up things off the floor, etc., but I wasn't able to keep up with the big things like mopping the floors, scrubbing toilets/baths, dusting, etc. It was just getting away from me and I couldn't take it anymore. This couple cleans like 6 or 7 of my friend's houses, so they came highly recommended and I knew I could trust them. They come every other Wednesday and I just leave the house and let them do their thing. I must say, it is REALLY nice to come home to a nice smelling, spotless house and it is easier to keep up between their visits. They only do the main floor...not the basement which is where the kid's rooms are, the guest BR, 2 bathrooms and the Rec room. So, I still have to do that, but it's manageable b/c no one really ever goes down there except for us. It was just going to be too expensive to have the entire house done b/c it's about 4300 sq. ft. But, I am very happy having the main floor done! Plus, it's nice b/c they do things like clean the ceiling fans, pull furniture away from the walls, clean under area rugs, etc...stuff I wouldn't normally do!
We have a 2 ladies come every Thursday and I love it. We keep the house picked up, so all they do is clean the surfaces, floors, kitchen, bathrooms, etc. We schedule a deep clean every 12 weeks. Then they clean floor to ceiling, everything. We love a clean house! Lol
I used to clean our old house but it was half the size of our current house. It would take me a whole day to clean this house by myself and working full time, I didn't want to give that time up.
