Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

I need encouragement/motivation: getting house ready to sell

We are going to try to sell our house. I feel like we are crazy with the new baby coming, etc. BUT we need more space. It's a long shot that we get what we are asking but there is a chance.

The problem: We have crap everywhere. I worked ALL day yesterday packing stuff up but I still feel like it looks like I didn't do anything. On top of that...I'm waiting on DH to clear out some speakers & computer stuff. I know I did a ton yesterday but I can't motivate myself to keep going today.

  • Definitely keep going, it will be SO Much easier to sell now than when you have newborn to take care of, or toddler crap all over your house, etc.

We may be selling ours soon and I dread having to keep the house clean each day.  It will be so hard.

I'm going to make myself start. I guess I did the easy stuff yesterday! I just wish I could move DH's crap. I'm going to make him deal with it tonight. That will help me feel much better.

  • What about working towards a reward? If you work for x amount of time you can have an hour of tv or a cupcake or whatever. That always works for me. That way I feel like I accomplish something but then I get a treat at the end.

  • I'm in the same spot!
  • You can do it! We are in the process of trying to sell our house also (similar situation) and the weeks leading up to listing it sucked, BUT it looked awesome when it hit the market and we got really good feedback & traffic. Once you get it ready it isn't too bad to maintain & I must say I love having a clean and uncluttered house. We haven't had any luck actually selling ours yet (really crappy marked here right now) but with summer coming I hope our luck changes. Good luck - you can do it and it will be worth all your hard work in the end!
