Re: Where did you register for your shower?
We registered at BRU and Target. You can also consider:
Right Start (in the Village)
Pottery Barn Kids
Amazon.com
Baby's 1st Furniture
Restoration Hardware Baby
ditto.
amazon.com has pretty good stuff as well.
BRU, Amazon and Wal-Mart.
Amazon for a few key things I couldn't find in stores.
WM because we have families that live in smaller towns - can't shop online and there are no other stores.
No Target because I didn't want to fight the return system.
I had my shower a month ago and I registered at Target and BRU. All of the big stuff (swing, bouncy seat, high chair) were at BRU and I did most of the little stuff at Target. Most people went to Target and I had multiples (like 3 or 4) of many items on my registry. Hardly anything was taken off the registry when it was purchased. It actually became quite funny when I opened the third duckie faucet cover at the shower!
I had no problems returning anything to either store. My biggest complaint about BRU was that they give you sale prices (even if it isn't currently on sale) if you don't have a gift receipt. They were willing to scan things that I wanted to return, but didn't know for sure where it came from. As long as you have a registry, they will take back anything they sell regardless if it is on your registry. I did combine my 10% off competion coupon with two different 20% off One Item coupons and saved a ton on my swing and Arm's reach co-sleeper.
At Target, I just went online and added everything that was purchased to my registry log and then marked it as purchased. I had zero problems returning it all for giftcards. They did require that the items show up on your purchase log to return w/o a receipt, but it only took a few minutes to do at home. It takes a while for their registry to update, so do it at home the day before you plan to return items.
Ditto this. I kept it simple and just did BRU.
