You taped your what?

Co-irker says to me as I walk by "oh look your belly button popped! I used to tape mine down because I thought it looked gross peeking out from my shirts"

Um... yea. Thx.

Re: You taped your what?

  • Uhh....yeah... nothing like being inadvertantly told your belly button looks gross. Thanks lady. Confused

Hahaha.  I hate when people think they can poke your belly button because it is sticking out.  Ummm... NO!!  Don't touch me!

  • Bahahaha!! I don't think I could have looked at her with a straight face at that comment. Or I would've looked her dead in the face and said, "Are you saying my belly is gross?" just to make her feel awkward.
  • Haha I'm hoping mine doesn't pop. But hubby's wants it to. He thinks it'll be cute.

  • That sounds like it would hurt - mine never popped out, but it was sensitive from being stretched out.  I can't imagine that putting tape on it would feel good.

    Also, that's totally weird.

  • I can imagine pulling the tape off, her skin must have been sore after awhile.

Yea, I'm sorry but I'm not taping anything down because she thinks it's "gross".

  • I never thought it looked gross but I would put a bandaid over it so it wasn't so noticible and people wouldn't poke at it (cause they will).  It's already sensitive from being stretched and then people have to poke at it, ugh :P

  • Mine was always flat with DD, never poked out.  I used to show my belly button to my sister and mom all the time cuz they think pregnant belly buttons are gross.  Mine was gross cuz it was bruised and blue, but I think the poking out ones are cute.  :)

  • I've heard of a lot of people doing this.  Mine is still an innie so we shall see when I cross that road (if I do).

I would consider putting a bandaid on mine but not because someone else thought it was "gross".  Mine is sensitive and DH keeps poking it.
  • I think I am probably a few weeks away from mine poking out.  I have a friend of a friend who covered hers with a panty liner because they are softer...and probably don't hurt as bad to pull off!  Either way, I will be doing something to keep people from poking it and it is super sensitive so anything to keep it from being brushed against other stuff will help.
  • What about people who naturally have an outtie, even when they are not pregnant? Does she think their belly is gross too? So inappropriate!
