I'm thinking about it. I'm not crazy about going by myself (safety) so I thought maybe with another friend who can get away. Even if only for a few days. I'd give the kids to my mom and go someplace warm with a sandy beach. No road trips. No packing the "vacation" full of activities. Just go-with-the-flow and doing what I felt like and when I felt like it.
Lol, by the time I got used to that it would be time to go home ![]()
Re: Would you take a vacation without DH?
Yes! My BFF and I have taken 2 vacations by ourselves. Last year we met in Chicago for 3 days, and this year we flew to Orlando for 4 days.
Absolutely. I have done it and it's wonderful. Not for a week or anything, but a few days away with my friends or my mom and sisters is heavenly.

wouldn't think twice about it. I wouldn't even need another person.
I have gone up to our lake house (in the adirondacks) before alone- was wonderful!!! haven't done it recently. might be exactly what i need.

Would I, ABSOLUTELY! I do actually. I was just in Cabo in Feb with my girlfriends, Boston with the same group last May. I think girl/guy time is important too. DH goes on annual golf trip with high school friends and a ski trip with college friends. I only wish I could get my girlfriends to do it twice a year too.
Now these trips are not instead of family trips and just alone trips with DH and I. They are in addition to those trips.
I am going on a cruise with a group of friends from high school. We haven't all been together in 15 years. DD will be 6 month old by then, but I am already worried about leaving her.
Thankfully DH is so supportive and wants me to take the trip because he figures after 6 months of being a SAHM/WAHM, I will need it!
I'm on a vacation without him right now! DD and I flew to the Lower 48 from Alaska. We are staying here for 2 1/2 weeks, then driving back home. We will be apart for about 3 1/2 weeks.
Over Christmas, I took DD to Las Vegas to stay with DH's family, then to see my family. We were gone for three weeks for that trip.
Even though I would rather take vacations with DH, we live 3000 miles from most of our family. It is really important to us that DD know her extended family so if we both can't take her to visit, I will by myself. The schedule flexibility to do that is one of the reasons that I am a SAHM.
Absolutely, several every year, actually!
My Mom's Group goes off to Napa Valley and then, to Vegas every year and I always fly back to Texas to spend about a week with my best girlfriends.
