My boss confided in me that he will be leaving the company... and I'm heartbroken. He's basically the only reason I have stayed here. I'm not fond of the industry, but he's amazing! There has been a lot of changes recently, and I'm thinking he's being forced out. He'll be here through the summer, but is leaving.
He also informed me who my new boss is going to be, and I'm going to spend the next 2 days with him at a workshop (7 people at workshop total), plus lunch and dinner both days! I have to be at my best. And I'm not sure if he knows about the pg yet (my current boss does, but I asked him to stay quiet)... and I'm not sure if I should mention it. But if we have drinks w/ dinner, I may have to spill the beans.
Okay, ::breath in:: I'm nervous obviously! With all the changes going on, I need to make sure I'm on his good side, and I'm not next. Wish me luck ladies!

Lots of luck! Don't stress about spilling the beans, it's your news to share when you are ready and the time is right. I would keep it to myself, as I wouldn't see this as the right time. If drinks are involved, just say that you don't like the taste of beer or hard liquor (depending on what's being offered) and or go the club soda with lime route, don't ask, don't tell.
Just be positive and charming and all will be well! You have all summer to work on the real transition and find out how things really are going to be.
Stay positive, you may be pleasantly surprised.
Good luck! As for the drinks thing, when I was in the early stages and it was expected that I get a drink, I used to order a glass of wine and bring it to my lips and not drink it. No one noticed that it was never emptying! Or I would get an iced tea or a coke and not make a deal about it. Here's hoping you don't get put on the spot, either way.
Here's hoping you like the new boss and that the transition is smooth.
