When do you test?

So I am very new to TTC only on our first cycle. But I was curious how many DPO do you wait to test? I don't plan on testing for at least the first three cycles as to not get my hopes up and may wait more unless I really feel the need to. But if I do get that urge to test and can't wait any longer I would like to know what would be a good day to do it. Thanks!

I've only ever tested twice.. and it was the same cycle and THE only cycle I have had a cycle last 15 dpo.. first time i tested was 10dpo cuz i was so excited i made it to 10dpo and then i tested again at 15dpo cuz i was confused.. haven't even made it to 10dpo since.. soo i havent bothered.

Thanks ladies! I really appreciate the chart also! I have always hoped I can wait until I am pretty sure that it will test positive so that I only ever have to take one but who am I kidding! I am the most impatient person...
