What do you do? I need to do something to earn some extra money. I've been waitressing for a few months, but I'm just miserable where I am working right now. The manager who does the schedule is being a jerk and scheduling me when I request off for family events among other things. I need to leave there fast before I flip out on somebody. Just looking for some ideas.
Thanks!
Re: If you work part time and/or work from home...
We own a small trucking business and I do the bookwork for it. So while I'm technically not making extra money, I'm saving us some with not having to hire someone to do it:)
Scroll down or go back a few pages. This gets asked often and so there are a lot of great answers from the ladies on here!

I work 17 hours a week for a small business-I'm a HR Manager.
Some other ideas of companies that hire PT are hotels and retail. A friend of mine works at babies r us part time. However, she generally spends most of her paycheck there...haha.
I work part time 2 evenings a week. I do billing for a trucking company. I go to work when my husband gets home and I work until 9. Then I come home and put the baby to bed. That was very important to me when I decided to work evenings. I did not want to miss bed time.
I do not make a ton of extra money since I don't work very many hours BUT it does get me out of the house with other adults and it gives me a little extra "fun" money.
I have to say- I am super jealous (but happy for!) the women who get to do their work from home. Like if they work for a company that lets them do their job from home. Although I know it can't be easy to balance work and kids, it is a nice option.
I would watch other kids during the day but I already have two babies and one on the way. Don't know if I could handle more. Maybe when they are older!
I am trying to get a PT merchandising job. I had an interview for it last week but haven't heard back. I hope they call! It is an easy gig. All it entails is stocking the candy at Home Depot! Only 2 hours a week but that is all I want and it does offer room for more jobs as they open up, which would be nice.
I found that job on Craigslist. Also, last week I responded to a gig ad from a store fixtures company that wants to buy all the shelving/fixtures from our Office Max that is closing. So I went in and counted/measured shelves and took pictures and they paid me $75! Only took about an hour but I made DH help. It reminded us of our days working at Toys R Us, where we met
So anyway, always check CL for gigs and PT work. There are a lot of scams to pick through but the real jobs are there, too.
