Re: Is every one a 100% SAHM

  • I'm 100% a SAHM, but a lot of the ladies on here work part time.
  • Loading the player...
  • I lie (to myself) and think of myself as a SAHM.  But I guess it is a true statement that I am a PT SAHM.  I am out of the house working about 20 hours/wk.
  • I am, but most of my friends who call themselves SAHM work (or volunteer) part time, especially the ones who have older kids in school.
  • regardless if you work PT or SAH 100%- feel free to post here. its a great board.

I mingle between this board and the WM board- i post here more because I don't have any experience with daycare/nanny and a lot of the posts over there concern that.

I watch one additional child in my home so technically I'm self employed, although since I'm home with DD full time I consider myself a SAHM rather than working.

I am a 100% SAHM.  Haven't worked since my oldest was born.  He's 5.  Taking care of the kids is my job and I don't see it changing any time soon.  I cannot wait till the baby is old enough for Preschool so I can hopefully get a PT job.

  • Nope I work PT out of the home, and then I work from home 10 hours a week, so I would say I almost work FT, but I feel like a SAHM, cause I have a lot more time with DD then when I worked out of the home 40 plus hours a week and on call 24/7...

I'm 100% a SAHM.  I do the bookwork for our business, but I do it from home and it really doesn't take up a lot of time (unless I mess up.  Then it's another story...).

  • 100%, but I spend a few hours a day looking for a job, since it is required to be able to collect unemployment. I have been looking for a job for a year. Once the unemployment runs out, I will proabley stop looking for work.
  • both, actually.  i work about 8 hours a week for my dad at his house (like a mile away!) and bring DD with me.  so i work very PT, but DD is always with me.  i wouldn't have it any other way.  :)

    For the first 2 years and 2 months I was a 100% SAHM.  I just started working part-time 4-9 hours in the evening/weekend (no childcare needed/DH w/DS).

I just got hired for a better evening part-time job that will probably be around 15 hours per week---I'll then let the prior part-time job go.

  • Im a SAHM but my children go to "mothers morning out" most days bc I sew and have a shop on etsy.  But its not even a PT job and I am home...its just for fun and little extra spending money for me haha.  So I dont know where I stand in all of this but I do stay home 100% of the time.....but I also get a break from my sweeties to do a "job".  I think I have the BEST of both worlds!!!
