What would you say is your biggest (most exciting) milestone that you?ve experienced with you LO so far?

Re: PG-Mom-TTC check in

  • Lots of ::baby dust:: for those TTC!  And lots of ::labor dust:: to Hanneke!

No real new or updates.  I am feeling pretty good these days and am feeling like this part of the pregnancy is flying by much faster than the first tri - I am almost at 18 weeks!  Still not really showing - mostly just bloat at this point.

No big milestones yet, but we do have our big u/s scheduled for two weeks from today.  I cannot wait to see the LO again and even more I cannot wait for DH to see him/her since he did not go with me to my last u/s.  I am also anxious to find out what we are having so I can start decorating and such before it gets too hot to paint!

Not too much going on with me.  I'm getting bigger by the day.  I'm uncomfortable a lot of the time and I hate the heartburn at night.  As lucky as I was with this pregnancy, I'm ready for it to get moving along a bit quicker.  I have an OB appointment this Friday and I'm seeing the midwife this time.  I can't wait to find out what position this baby is in and make sure that everything is progressing normally.

ETA: The awful constipation that I was plagued with earlier in pregnancy is back.  Booo!

What would you say is your biggest (most exciting) milestone that you?ve experienced with you LO so far?

Since I don't have an "outside" baby yet, I'll give my take on this question as it relates to me now.  I think the biggest thing to me is just having made it this far into the pregnancy.  Knowing that the baby has a 90-95% chance of surviving if God forbid I had to give birth now, is huge to me.

  • I had my 29 week appt on Friday, now I go every other week.  I passed my GD test, my blood pressure is amazing, I am still down 4 pounds since my BFP.  The baby's heart rate used to be in the 150s and is now in the 140s which my dr says is because the baby is calm and happy in my tummy.  We did our birth class on Wed and I am glad we did it all in one day, except I forget some stuff already.  My last day of work is July 1st, I made the schedule yesterday until then so it made me a little sad knowing I soon won't be working.

I think I am getting to the nesting stage.  I just want to get everything done.  This weekend DH and my dad are painting the nursery, so I get to soon put that together.  We are doing a lot of mix match pieces, but that is alright with me.  I just can't wait to see everything get done in the next few weeks.  I can't believe how fast time is going.

I also learned that one of our couple friends wants to throw us a little shower for our LO.  I am super excited since I doubted we would have any showers and never expected that it would be his friends that would throw us one.  So it will be a couple shower/BBQ next month, I am excited.

Oh, we have also been married for 6 months now, which is exciting too.

Most exciting milestone... feeling this little one would be the best one.

  • I'm getting huge!  Suddenly I'm uncomfortable all the time.  Last night I noticed that my feet are starting to swell.  I was hoping I still had more time before this part!  Oh well, only 7 weeks left...

We're doing maternity pictures this weekend, and our other shower is Sunday.  I'm so ready to get it over with so I can see what we need to buy still & finish the nursery!

Biggest milestone for my inside baby:  I agree with Natalee -- making it this far!  Also feeling all of the movement.  I feel like everything changed after he started moving.  Now it's like he's a real baby -- I don't know how to explain that right, but it just seems so much more real now that I can just poke my belly to make him move whenever I'm worried about him.  Before I could feel movement I spent all of my time worried about whether or not he was okay.

My last day of work is July 1st

SO JEALOUS!  I swear I'm moving to Canada.

  • Things are going great here! Baby H is head down and getting into position, which kind of makes it a little scary because that means labor isn't all that far off anymore. I finally have a plan for the nursery (since we are still at mom's and not in our "permanent" residence). I think it will be pretty cute and I am definitely kicking it into high gear to get this stuff done.

As for my biggest milestone, I agree with PP, just making it this far and knowing I have a healthy baby in there is really reassuring.

  • No updates for me. I'm supposed to be in my fertile days, but I haven't gotten a positive OPK yet...but either way we are doing the BD and having fun. I decided not to stress too much about it and just go with the flow.

  • Just about to week 5, so we're still crossing fingers that all is well in there. I don't "feel" pg at all, aside from having to pee every 5 min. Stick out tongue.

I made an appointment for an US at 6w6d while I'm at home. We are gonna ask my Ohio Dr. what to do about me living in St. Thomas and having another island dr., how they will communicate, when I need to go home for good (I'll deliver in Ohio) and all that stuff.

    TTC vibes!

  • Things are going well with me pregnancy wise, I've started swelling up at night and I don't know if it's because I've been on my feet more or because I'm just at that point in my pregnancy. Who knows. I'm not swollen in the morning so I'm still wearing my wedding rings :)

I'm in the club of making it this far = best milestone. I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for the possibility of the baby coming early (by a few weeks) but it's weird when I've had my due date burned into my brain. I'm actually expecting to go late but the plan is to have the nursery totally ready by July 1.

Our crib is being delivered next week and then we're going to paint the changing table and dresser to match it.

Our Chicago shower is on Sunday and I'm excited to see people even though I think it will be over 1/2 my mom's friends and not mine, oh well! I'm still thankful that anyone wants to get together and celebrate our baby!

  • Hi ladies!

Lots of baby dust to our TTCers!! And dilation and labor dust to Hanneke!

     Mari Updates:

The Good - her reflux seems to be pretty much under control at this point.  She's not in pain and she's not spitting up that horrid smelling liquid.  She's smiling and laughing more and more every day which is so nice! She's finally starting to tolerate being under her play-mat thing and is sitting in her Bumbo for short periods of time.  She's beginning to coo back to me when I'm talking to her in a soft voice and it just melts me!

The Bad - She's still not napping (outside the Moby)... I've tried everything short of giving her a shot of bacardi (I kid, I kid...).

The Ugly - Her nursing pattern has completely changed and I'm thinking something's not right.  I'm taking her to the pedi for her 2 month check up and shots tomorrow, so I've been holding out on asking him and was actually going to post about this today here and on the BFing board.   Mari is now only taking 1 or 2 ounces every HOUR.  That's right, I'm nursing this chic every friggin hour for almost a week now and my nipples are ready to fall off.  I have complete nipple blanching from the latch we still (obviously) don't have right.  She refuses to nurse more than 5 or 6 minutes at a time and an hour later she's hungry again.  I don't know what to do about it... I've just continued to nurse her on demand.  I called the lactation consultant to come back and still haven't heard back from her and if I don't by Thursday, I'm calling someone else.  If you have any insight, I'd really like to know.

    Milestone:

The day she gave me her first "all-gums" smile.  It was awesome.

  • My updates are below :-) I'm 39wks6days today and things are getting a bit hard. My belly is huge, I'm so tired all the time and I just don't know what to do with myself anymore. I'm so ready to have this baby :-) I do love it that (s)he loves me so much (s)he doesn't want to leave me :-)

    Milestone:
If I hit the 40wk mark tomorrow that would be my milestone, I never ever expected to make it till my due date b/c of my height (4'11). I really thought Spruit was going to come early.

  • I felt hiccups today for the first time!  So cute. :)  I'm definitely starting to have trouble sleeping.  I'm not really uncomfortable, so I don't really understand why, but I toss & turn for over an hour every night when we go to bed, & then I wake up all the time.  I'm so tired!

I would definitely agree with PPs--the biggest milestone is just making it this far & knowing that she would be ok if (heaven forbid) she decided to make an early appearance.  And feeling movement was definitely a milestone because it's a great reassurance to let me know that everything is going well in there!

  • Gianna is doing great.....During the day she eats about every 2 hours like clock work. At night she sleeps between 3-4 hours at a time and wakes to eat.....She is a great baby....But don't get me wrong she does have bad gas, and can scream at any given moment lol....

Milestones- She pooped yesterday lol....it has been 3 days...if you have been following my pooping posts you would know how exciting it is lol....

  • We went to the doctor today about her congestion. She has been horribly congested for 2 weeks and last week it started affecting her sleep. The dr said she looks good and gave her some decongestant. She weighs almost 11lbs now. I got her in bed at 8 pm last night which was a miracle so hopefully we are getting this bedtime thing figured out.

Best milestone - yesterday she smiled when I went to get her up in the morning. It was the first time I felt like she was smiling because it was me.

  • We introduced meat into his diet today and I am not sure if it was a success or failure but it was EVERYWHERE!  Even in his nose, he likes to grab the spoon and feed himself and it is so cute.

Best Milestone- they have all been so wonderful.  the one that made my heart melt was when he reached for me.  I just wanted to hug him and never let him go!

  • Any news or updates?  Ahhh, just enjoying our time together each & every day.  I can't believe that tomorrow she will be 6 weeks & on Thursday we have her echocardiogram to make sure she has no minor heart defects that weren't detected prior to her arrival & I have my 6 wk PP appt.

What would you say is your biggest (most exciting) milestone that you?ve experienced with you LO so far?  Seeing her happy face every morning.  She is definitely more of a morning person like her mommy.  I love to go in there & see her laying there w/ her eyes open & when I say "Good Morning" to her she lets out one of those fabulous smiles.

  • Any news or updates? No big updates here. I'm loving spending time with Kellen and seeing how much he changes from day to day.  He will be one month old on Monday, which is hard to believe!  We have a doctor appt that day (he gets his first set of shots!) and I'm anxious to see how much he weighs.

What would you say is your biggest (most exciting) milestone that you?ve experienced with you LO so far?  Hmm, so far, I'd say it is when he started sleeping 5 hours straight at night, waking up when he gets hungry.  Heaven!

  • Any news or updates? I'll be hitting 11 weeks on Thursday and happy to almost be out of the first trimester. We are having an u/s on Friday and I am excited to see the bean again.

What would you say is your biggest (most exciting) milestone that you?ve experienced with you LO so far?  I'd say controlling the puking. Finally learning to keep the bean happy and full every couple of hours.

::Lots of baby dust to those TTC:: Hoping to hear about more BFPs! :)

    Any news or updates?

still teething.  all night long... apples have helped, but everything else has been a massive fail. DH brought her to come visit me at lunch today. It was so fun to show her off to everyone at work. He dressed her himself today, so she showed up in a newborn jumper, way too small, but she still looked cute. :)

What would you say is your biggest (most exciting) milestone that you?ve experienced with you LO so far?

seeing her smile. she's been doing it forever now, but it still melts my heart.

  • I'm still doing pretty good but I'm starting to get uncomfortable.  Phoebe likes to push her feet up under my ribs now, my dad says she is trying to get more room, but it can hurt!  I'm starting to get really tired again and have started taking naps some days just to make it to bedtime!  I'm also having a lot of back pain.  I don't remember it being this bad last time.  It hurts so bad sometimes I have a hard time walking (I think its going out), but I don't know what to do about it.  Overall I'm still doing good though.

  • Updates - The Kikmonster is 2 big months old.  And still wearing NB clothes.  Some 0-3 but NB seems to fit her best. She started STTN, like all the way through the night.  It is great.  She goes to bed around 9 and sleeps until 6:30 to eat and goes back down until 8 or 9.  It is awesome.  She has her 2 month well baby appt on Thursday.  I am nervous, she is getting three shots and I have to go all by myself.  Timm will be working.  Boo.

Best milestone so far - smiling at me when I come in the room.  Then she did it when Timm walked in the room.  I love that she recognizes us both as her parents and doesn't seem to favor one of us over the other...yet anyway.

  • So far not a lot has changed.  Little one is kicking/moving harder so I'm more easily able to feel it.  I can feel it sometimes on the outside of my belly which I'm pretty excited about.  Since I'm still 2 hours from DH for school he hasn't felt it yet, but I'll see him in a week so little one's kicks should be stronger for him to feel it.

What excited me the most so far was being able to feel little one so much more (than even two weeks ago) just before my birthday.  Just makes my birthday today seem so much more special.  I've got everything I think I want in life except for being completely done with school, so I'm pretty happy with where I'm at on my birthday this year.  And you can't say that with every birthday.  I try to take a moment each year on my birthday and figure out what I want to change in my life if anything.  This year, it isn't a lot.  Big Smile

  • I am going to the dr. every week to check weight and my fluid. I am down 4 lbs and able to control my sugar. Landon is head down and EVERYONE says I have dropped. We have order the dresser and glider to make his room complete. I finally found a dipaer bag I loved with breaking the bank.

I will be 35 weeks Saturday!

  • News:  I went to the midwife last Wednesday.  I gained 2 pounds and everything is still measuring well.  Like the rest of the July girls, I am starting to feel uncomfortable.  I usually am able to sleep from 9:30pm to midnight and then I am awake for the night.  I think that this is a predictor of what is to come.

I hope that everyone else has a great week!

  • I need to be added to the PG list.

     Tara: EDD 1/4/11

  • I posted my update last night.  Yay!

I'm childless, but, I do have a "milestone".  For the first time in MONTHS, I have a TTC direction and I'm happy about it.  I feel like I'm "taking charge" and I love it.

I love reading all of your baby milestones!
