(Can you tell my baby has become a big old toddler here lately, opinions and all!)
Marion is frankly, obsessed with berries. We can't afford to feed her raspberries anymore, LOL.
We never offer them until she's done with her meal and we always offer her normal portions of food that should come very close to filling her up. And I don't leave the container out where she can see it either.
But if we give her berries after a meal, she'll eat them from here to eternity. I think she once at close to fifteen strawberries before I cut her off.
Besides the obvious worry of it hurting her stomach, would you just let her eat as many as she wanted, or would you put a limit on it?
Re: Do you limit healthy foods?
I would think cut out other snack type foods (crackers/cookies/etc) & just offer the fruit.
I would think as long as she's not getting sick to her stomach it'd be ok.
Elysabeth is exactly the same way! Girl loves her fruits!!!! Any type of berries...bananas...pineapples...you name it it's going down!
I try to give her fruits for all her snacks and after every meal because she loves them so much. On the plus side when she's full she won't eat anymore so I've never really had to cut her off.
But bearing her getting sick...I'd let her eat at much as she wants!

Lila will eat her weight in strawberries. I do cut her off. There is no reason why she should eat an entire container in 1 sitting... I know she's not still hungry. I bought 6 packages when they were on sale for $.97 at HEB last week.
BTW white vinegar in cold water gets out berry stains
My son eats fruit by the truck full! He eats a banana every morning for breakfast then usually has some grapes. He'll eat grapes or strawberries all day if I let him. Yet, I can't get the kid to eat any vegetables!
We are the point that he will only eat fruit, any of the Gerber snacks, and cheese. I prefer he eat the fruits than all the processed snacks. Occasionally we can get him to eat meat but that's not everyday.
He is getting to be a pain when it comes to eating! lol
I will let them eat however much they want of fruits and veggies (with the exception of berries and grapes because they're absolutely ridiculously expensive here.)
The kids were getting to be really bad about asking for snacks in the afternoons before dinner, and they always wanted crackery/cookie type things. So I've made a rule. I put a plate of fruits and vegetables out on the dining table, and they can have as much as they want. Yes, sometimes they're not hungry for dinner, but at least it's because they ate good healthy food and not crap. And Hannah doesn't eat the dinner 3/4 of the time anyway, even if she's hungry.
I need to try that rule. Elena starts turning the fridge inside out in the afternoons. It drives me crazy that every 15 minutes she's asking for something new to eat. "Mommy, can I have olives? Mommy, can I have ham? Mommy, can I have something sweet? I haven't had anything sweet for 10 years!"
