TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

I have to ask a silly question

RE: Ovarian cysts.

Is it painful?

For the past 3-4 days, I've had a weird feeling on my left side. Like a pulling feeling, I guess is the best I can describe it as. It's not super painful, but uncomfortable. Could it maybe be cysts, or am I being a big huge baby?

Re: I have to ask a silly question

  • I have had one on my left side since my baseline u/s last september (probably longer than that actually) and I have never felt anything.  Clomid can cause cysts so it's definitely possible.

  • I haven't had one (at least not diagnosed), but I've heard it described as more of a stabbing pain.

And I don't think you're being a big huge baby at all.  You're on Clomid, and Clomid causes cysts.  You should be being monitored with u/s, especially if they're going to bump your dosage.

  • I just looked at your chart, any chance you might be ovulating?  That could cause the feeling you are describing.

I'm still charting, but I started my progesterone to bring on AF a couple of days ago. I have sort of given up hope of ovulating this cycle.

Would O pains even last that long?

  • You're right - 3-4 days of O pain is long.  Are you getting a baseline u/s when AF arrives?

  • I've had them a couple of times.  For me they have been short, sharp pains.  Since your on clomid I would think it's possible it's a cyst though.

I can't even get in to see my RE until July :(

I'm starting to get really, really frustrated with the whole process. I know I'm lucky, because its the only fertility clinic in Southern Alberta, but come ON people.

  • I forgot about that part.  Can your regular OB do an u/s to check on things?  I'm frustrated for you too.  Why can't this be easy???

My regular OB is a twatwaffle who made me wait 6 months for an HSG - and even then, she didn't do it. My new Dr (RE) did it.

She delivered my daughter, and she's still a wretched cvntbag about things. Makes me sad.

  • The only one I felt was the one that ruptured. SweetbabyJesusinamanger, it was painful. I hope you never have one of those.

  • Sorry!  I hope things get better soon.  July isn't too far away so hopefully you can get some answers soon.

this has been my experience and also at ovulation time (when I had my IUI) i described extreme ovulation pain to the nurse and she told me it was probably the cysts............I hope that's not what it is!!
