  Just curious, whose name/number do you have?  

   I used Georgia Crowhurst, A Baby's Choice  281-216-5441, for renting a pump.  She lives near 249 btw Spring Cypress and Northpointe.   She seemed very nice and knowledgeable, however, I didn't actually use an LC for bfing.

   

  I think that I would probably meet with an LC beforehand so they know your expectations.  The hospital LC at Methodist Willowbrook was horrid and very unsupportive!  It really sucked because that was her job to help women bf and she was unsupportive of it!  Next time around I will now better!

  This worries me! The lady is at Methodist Willowbrook hospital.  I have her card at my house.  I hadn't called her yet, and I cant remember her name....might need to find someone else!!!!

  I am tempted to by pass this ALL together only because my mom will be in. She is an RN (did labor &delivery and neonatal care), birth'd three babies (twins to boot), breast fed us all - if she and I can't figure it out, then go to the LC...

  your mom is going to be an awesome resource, you're very lucky to have her.

  does the hospital have an lc available 24/7, or is it just M-F 8-5?  If they don't have one 24/7, then I'd have an LC you can call that will make hospital visits.

  more than likely, if you have a normal delivery, you'll be in and out so fast that it won't matter.  but should you end up with a c/s and be in over the weekend, then it gets more important to be able to reach someone.

  it certainly isn't a bad idea to meet with someone beforehand, if for no other reason than to get reassurance of what it's going to be like in the first few days and weeks.

   I'd definitely rely on your mom, at least at first.  Then if she can't help call an LC.   If it's the same lady that came into my room at the hospital, I swear that woman would have rather shoved a bottle of formula in my son's mouth than help us latch right!
