MIL found them ALL!!! Yep, straight out of the mid 70's.....butterfly collars and all...Oh Happy Day!! Tongue Tied

And I thought I'd have to wait till it went to school before it got beat up for the first time...at this rate I'm going to have to teach it to fight before it walks.

LOL....my mom gave me my baby clothes. I am acutally going to use my going home outfit on my little girl if I have a little girl. It is really cute and has a bonnet and everything. I just thought it would be cute to do.

hahaha just do what im going to do. only put them on him when yous MIL is coming over. or take a picture and send it to her only lol. i was given a few very horrible outfits by MIL

LMAO! MIL tried to give us this awful little sailor suit that was DH's. I politely declined and said we already had way too many baby clothes.

I would LOVE to have straight out of the 70's clothes. I know DH's clothes are long gone but I really hope my mom is able to find some of my old cordouroy pants and plaid shirts.

She lives here and is over all the time...I think she might notice. You just have to laugh...or cry...whichever.

LOL how funny! Sunday we went and bought LO going home outfit and showed it to MIL and he got all excited saying she was going to look for DH going home outfit and maybe he can wear that instead. Its from the mid 80's but noooooo thank you! I like what we picked lol.

Ha! If I was having a girl my mom would have done the same thing with my clothes. She is just DYING to be able to hand them down to her future granddaughter.

My DH was born in Spring of 1979, and my MIL was gun-ho on giving our son all the crap she saved (MIL is pack rat to the extreme) I agreed to have him wear DH's going home outfit, even though it was a sweater set and my son was borm mid-August... I wanted her to shut up pretty much. When she pulled out the puffy zip up vest that Robiin Williams had from Mork and Mindy I had to say NOOOOOO! Anyway here is a photo of My son going home in 2007 wearing the same outfit Daddy did in 1979.

OP - there's always Halloween - you can get a great disco/70s family theme going

And, some of that stuff is back in style - ya never know

I'd actually love to have some of DH's old clothes - I think he'd get a kick out of seeing his son in his clothes

My MIL saved a lot of stuff too. Around Christmas, she pulled out a pair of red corduroy overalls that DH had worn for his first Christmas. We paired them with a white turtleneck and that's what T wore to meet Santa for the first time. The news cameras were there, the anchor was chatting with us, and they loved the story so much that T ended up on the news that night!

So, it's not always a bad thing...unless the clothes are hideous, in which case then hope for a big blow out diaper early in the day
