Hi Ladies,
It looks like we are going to go to Disney this weekend and I do not know where to stay. DH wants a hotel with Disney Characters so Logan can enjoy them. If you like a hotel that doesn't have characters but its close enough to the parks let me know because I will consider it as well. Thanks!

We loved the Swan but a friend swears by the Hilton on the property (no characters) but much less expensive

Are the rooms small at the pop century hotel? They look a bit small on the pics and my friend told me that many of the Disney hotels have really small rooms so you almost hit the bed when you open the door. She did not mention a name so I don't know which hotels was she referring too. Its definitely nice not to have to pay for parking at the parks. DH wants a Disney hotel for Logan because he loved them as a child but I am not sold on the idea since Logan is afraid of characters most of the time. He likes to see them but he usually doesn't go near them (except Elmo of course).
Ditto!!
Yes, we are not going to spend time in the room at all but I want it to be comfortable and definitely clean! I am a bit of a germaphobe when it comes to hotels, bathrooms and public places and I had a pretty bad experience in Madrid, Spain that left me traumatized. We booked a nice hotel and the hotel ended up having bedbugs! it was nasty! I have travelled all over the world and I never had that problem before. Now, I am terrified that the same thing will happen again! LOL that is why I am asking all the questions. We even went to Las Vegas and stayed at the Four Seasons and at the beginning I couldn't even sleep thinking about the bed bugs in Madrid! Its good to know that the Pop Century is clean. I really liked the Pics of the Animal Kingdom Lodge but I do not want to spend over $200 a night since we are going to be out the whole day (we are only going for 4 days). Thank you so much for your input.
Not sure if you want it to be a Disney hotel, but during our last trip to Orlando, we stayed at the Lake Buena Vista Resort & Spa, and we were pleasently surprised! It is quite close to the Magic Kingdom, if you wish to drive there, otherwise, you can park at Downtown Disney, and take a tram / shuttle.
The rooms were super clean, and HUGE! We had a 4/4, and it was $270/night! Great when travelling w/ family. Plus, the resort had an awesome kid friendly pool, plus a convienent store on site for late night snacks, a pizza joint and an Irish bar w/ live music on wkends.

Lake Buena Vista Resort and Spa is really nice too - pretty close to the Hilton too. The Hilton is a little bit closer walking distance to Downtown Disney. LBV is a little fancier of a hotel and has a nicer pool area. They also have a nice playground.
Thanks Ladies!
I think we might end up staying either at the Lake Buena Vista resort or at the Hilton on the Disney Property
