I keep telling myself this is totally normal, but I'm a little down today that Rosalyn hasn't started walking yet. I just saw on FB a post by a friend of mine in our church homegroup whose son that is 2 months younger than Rosalyn--that he started walking yesterday. It's not a huge deal, but it does kinda fuel my nervousness about her not taking her first unassisted steps yet.
She has stood on her own for about 1 sec each, furniture cruises, pushes her walking toy all the time, and she just started walking while we're holding her hands. The doctor said that as long as she's having progress every week, then we're headed in the right direction. So with each progression, I'm encouraged, but seeing that FB post just got me in a funk. He also said that neither of his children walked b/f 14 months so that was good to hear as well.
This is just my little vent....maybe it's flameful. I don't want to push my DD to hit her milestones just to keep up with everyone else, but it just feels like salt in the wound. Ok, I'll stop whining now.

Aww, don't feel down! Rosalyn sounds like she's well on her way to walking. There are plenty of babies on here, and just in general, who didn't walk until much later 13 mos. Holly had just started to walk at her age. I know it's hard not to worry, but that's what Mommies do. :-) As great as message boards and FB can be, I've found that it makes me over think, and compare Holly to other babies more than I should. Try not to let it get to you!
First of all, it is normal to feel down about stuff like that, it is really hard to see other people's milestones when you are anxious for your child to hit them.
EVERYTHING Rosalyn is doing is great progress for walking, she is doing all the right things and what leads up to walking, I am sure she will be walking soon, and as long as her doctor said she is doing well, that is what is important.
My niece didn't walk until 18 months and my mom harped on it, it was so annoying, they even started in on Jocelyn before she was 1 saying that she should be walking before her birthday. Each child is different and it sounds like Rosalyn is well on her way to walking.
Haven't read the other posts but I am sure they say the same thing DON"T worry about it! Trust me as soon as she starts walking you are going to wish she weren't - they NEVER stop!
Will was 15 months when he started walking! And before that he never would even walk while we held his hand.... He'd cruise on furniture, climb on couches, furniture, stairs, etc but refused to walk. Literally one day he was walking holding our hand and 2 days later he was actually walking. Now that he has been walking for about 6 weeks I am SOOOO glad he wasn't an early walker. She will do it when she is ready. Someone told me the "milestone" for walking is 15 months anyway, so I just didn't worry about, I knew he wouldn't be in kindergarten crawling
Camryn didn't walk until 15 months.
Also, I emailed you yesterday instead of FB message to whatever email is listed on your FB....did you get it?

I'm so glad you told me b/c I rarely check that e-mail. Off to go check....thanks!
That's what I started to figure when I hadn't heard back from you
FB kept messing up when I was trying to message you back yesterday and I was afraid it was going to eat my whole message, so that's why I emailed!
