Trying to Get Pregnant

XP: Took a break & RE Update (Long)

Re: XP: Took a break & RE Update (Long)

  • Glad to see you back, and I am SO glad you are moving forward with a plan and a great RE!

(Also, about the Rx, some areas have compounding specialty pharmacies. At the drugstore where I worked, only one pharmacist did it...I don't think many grocery pharmacies do them at all. Hopefully it won't be hard for you to find someone to do them for you!)

  • That all sounds really positive and helpful!  I hope it works out for you :)

  • Well, that sounds like overall awesome news! I bet you're super happy that you're on a path to getting some real answers. Hopefully this cycle really is it for you! Fingers crossed :)

(and you're totally making me want to take this thyroid thing further..)

  • That is great news! The plan sounds like a great one.  May I ask what specifically about your charts made him suspect low progesterone?  Good luck!

  • Sometimes a break is a very necessary thing, bump break, sex break, whatever. Sounds like a very positive appointment - good luck!

  • Sounds like you got awesome news at your visit! My fingers are crossed for you.

As for the pharmacy, usually the smaller, neighborhood pharmacies can compound them!

  • Glad to hear you have actions you can take.  It sounds like your doc is going to be super helpful!  KMFX for a BFP for you soon!!
  • That's awesome and also makes me glad I've been doing more digging about my own thyroid issues.  I'm supposed to get the results today from a TSH/T3/T4/antibodies round of bloodwork that I had on Friday.  My doctors have only ever checked the TSH, so I will interested to see what the full work-up looks like.

     Good Luck!

Oh, I should have added that. I found a CVS that does it.  :-)

That's a good question.  He was a fast talker and my head was spinning, but if I understood him correctly it was the fact that I am ovulating, but my post O temp rise tends to be slower AND all of the spotting I have in my LP.  Then he saw the excess of estrogen in my culture which he said proved his suspicions.

I'm glad you're moving forward!  And thanks so much for posting this, because seeing your charts made me decide to go ahead and get checked out too.  I also spot a ton and my post O temp rise is often slow too.  I'm hoping my midwife will do some blood testing for me this cycle.

I look forward to seeing how all of this works out for you!  Hopefully we'll be seeing a BFP post from you soon.  :)

  • Not sure where you are in NJ, but Tiffany Pharmacy in Westfield does compounding and specializes in fertility meds.  I was there the other day to pick up Pre-seed!  Best of luck to you.

Thank you both for posting about this.  I am suspected of having low progesterone too.  However, my 7DPO level was 20 (totally wnl for that time frame) but I have spotting almost every day of LP.  Last month I started taking oral Progesterone supp which seemed to help a bit (mostly decrease in the amt of spotting).  I also don't see a temp rise right away .

A Natuopathic doc I have been seeeing wanted to see me ovulate earlier in my cycles too so I've been taking some compounded herbs (chastetree berry/black cohash/dong quai during day 1-14 and wild yam/chastetree berry/sanguinaria CD 14-28) from her that seem to have moved O from typicallly day 16-18 to day 12-14.

Good luck to you both and here's hoping the progesterone is our answer:)
