Wine bottles going plastic...

Did anyone else see this?  I think it was in my FoodNetwork magazine or something like that. 

I was disappointed to see that wineries are going to plastic instead of glass....

  • I haven't heard anything like that, but I know it's hard or impossible to recycle glass that has stored alcohol, so maybe it's actually an improvement.

    i'm curious about this. 

    the winery i work p/t for has a policy if you return a case of their bottles, you get $3 off your next case. We have a few loyal customers that do this. The winery cleans and sterilizes the bottles and use them again.

    I dunno about the bottle, but I remember reading a long time ago that the twist off caps were better than the corks!  Maybe that line of thought has changed over the past few years though.
