placenta previa & early c??

I have placenta previa so unless it moves we'll be doing a c-section. I'm almost 32 weeks and my Dr just told me that they would schedule the c for 36 weeks after doing an amnio to make sure LO is fully developed. She said they do this because if I were to go into real labor it could potentially harm the baby and me.

Anyone else have the same news?

    I have a friend who had placenta previa and was scheduled to have a c-section at 37 weeks.  The baby had other plans though, and she went into labor at 36 weeks 3 days.  She still had the c-section and both mom and baby are doing great.  Her DS is 8 days old today. :)
