Anyone have or travel with a costco Scenera?

I am thinking of getting one of these for my trip to MN (and any additional trips) bc it is a great price and I need to have a convertible car seat for when I am there.  I really don't want to lug my Britax and risk it getting lost or damaged...

Does anyone have one?

How was it flying with one?

Thanks!

  • We have one for grandma's car and we got an extra that we took to FL. Worked out GREAT! Comes with a clear plastic bag that we used to cover it in travel. We gate checked it.

  • perfect for travel or as a 2nd car seat. Light weight, cheap, comfortable. Easy (enough) to install. Very happy with it here!

  • We got one for travel but haven't used it on the plane yet. We carry it with us through the airport and gate check it. It's nice and light--so much lighter than our Marathon. We did have trouble getting a good RF fit in the center of our rental car with the seatbelt, but we did fine with the LATCH. It is supposed to be narrow enough to fit on any airline.

ETA: We got ours from overstock.com and it did not come with a plastic bag. I bought a cheap drawstring laundry bag at Target and carry it in that. If it's raining we get a bag from the airline too.

  • Have one, have traveled a fair amount with it (6 or so flights this year).  It is perfect for traveling and as a second car seat.  Not as cushy as the Marathon that is the primary car seat, but ideal for a lightweight, safe seat.  T slept on every flight so clearly it is comfortable enough.
  • We have one for air travel and it is prefect. I had no desire to lug a marathon through the airport. Plus it was cheaper than buying a bag for the marathon. I found mine on sale for $35. We know keep it around as an extra seat in case I am watching another lo or if we have someone watch B.

Thanks for that FYI...we've been meaning to get one for an upcoming trip and the total was $40 on Overstock...woo-hoo!

  • We bought one for travel--with a carrying bag from BRU--and it's great. We liked it so much that we now keep it in DH's car as our 2nd seat.
