If you went into labor...? for you

Did you feel nauseous and sick before you went into labor?  I have been so nauseous the past few days.  I didn't go into labor with K so I have no idea if this means anything or if it's just another wonderful part of being this far along.  I know I had some nausea at the end with K but I don't remember feeling this awful.

I didn't, but DS was 1 week early.  My water broke and labor started fast and furious.  But i have heard nausea is a sign of impending labor. :)  GL!

  • Nope, I felt completely normal (well, miserable, but that's normal for someone who is 9 months pregnant) before I went into labor.  I was actually convinced I would have to be induced, but it happened on its own.

  • No.  I went into labor at 39W3D and didn't get nauseous/sick until right before I gave birth.........like 3 hours before.
  • I didn't, but I did feel just run down and tired.  I didn't have much of an appetite.
  • Yes, I was nauseous, had upset stomach, and was MOODY as heck.

  • I felt not so great the day before having DS, but I didn't realize I was in labor and that my water had very slowly broken.  I felt very tired and yucky.
  • Nope.  I knew I was in labor when my water broke - a week late!  And even w/ that, they still had to induce me.

  • I was nauseas.  It was awful.
  • Yes! I was super nauseous, tired and emotional. And to top it off I had 50+ hours of back labor before DD was born.

GL! Maybe this is a sign that things are getting started!

No. I was really really tired. I was so tired I came home from work, took a long nap, and woke to full on contractions.

I was nauseous, vomiting etc for 3 days before. I was having sporadic contrax that felt like digestive cramps. I called my ob and they told me there was a stomach bug going around, that I was a 1st time mom unlikely to go into labor at 38w. Yeah, I now know I was in early labor for those 3 days. Fortunately my active labor was short (and I was 9+ cm when I got to the hospital) and the birth went fast too. GL! Try to rest and don't feel like you need to be working on your to-do list!

    This!

I had 'morning sickness' from week 32 until I had DD at 39w5d. My dr said it's very normal for morning sickness to come back.

Yeah I did around 35 weeks for a week or two then it went away.... I can't believe how close you are southern!
  • I don't remember being terribly nauseous, but I remember I thought I was still having Braxton Hicks contractions and thinking, these feel a lot different...

It was one hour before I was supposed to go in to be induced and I thought my mind was playing tricks on me... nope! When we arrived at the hospital I was 4cm dilated!!!

All I remember about initally going into labor was I wanted to be in the shower and nowhere else. I took four showers before going to the hospital in the span of, like, two hours LOL. I just wanted to lean against the wall and have the water pouring over me.

  • Thanks yall!!  I'm sure it's just the '3rd tri morning sickness' as several mentioned.  I've just been feeling so much pressure and pain down low and random contractions/braxton hicks that I never experienced with K and since I never labored or had a single contraction with her...I just don't know what to expect should I go into labor this time!  Smile

  • No, but my labor progressed very quickly with my first, and I got sick in the parking lot of the hospital.

I didn't feel sick with D until I was in the hospital having contractions - then there were a number of times I thought I was going to be sick.

With Wes, there were a couple days when I felt sick to my stomach in the week or two before going into labor, but the couple days before I actually went into labor, I felt fine.  And I didn't feel sick with the contractions with Wes.

No.  I felt great until 2 days before, then I was cramping and contracting all the time.  The day before I just felt tired, crampy, and sore.  I subconsciously knew I was having the baby because I got all set at work, showered at night, got a pedi...I hope that innate instinct kicks in this time too!

  • I wouldnt say nauseous, but I felt "off" all day. I didnt know if it was heartburn or what, I just knew I didnt feel good. And that was all day long. That night my labor started. I was 37 weeks pregnant exactly.
  • Yes, I remember throwing up quite a bit actually, but I can't remember if it was because something they gave me...I've heard of this though, you can definitely get nauseous. Good luck! :)
