NBR: Need party ideas

My 30th birthday is in a month and a half. Wes tells me last night he wants to throw me a big party celebrating it. He is looking for themed ideas. Some we came up with are:

1. an 80's theme since I was a child of the 80's

2. Dirty 30

Yeah we are lacking. Anyone else got any suggestions?

I would definitely do 80s! When I was in college, my sorority had an "80s Prom" party. It was hilarious and one of my favorite events ever!

I would definitely do an 80's themed party. One of my best friends did this and it turned out great. She got online and ordered all of the 80's type candy, i.e pop rocks, plus she sent out 80's themed invitations. The clothing was the best part. Plus she decorated with stuff like He-man, Sheera, Gem, etc.

You could shop at second hand stores and find you a sequined taffeta prom dress with puffy sleeves. You could crimp your hair or hot roll it. Oooh, and you could stock the bathroom with Aqua Net hairspray and Wet n Wild make-up!

80s wouldn't be bad. What about a Hollywood glam and glizt party?? Ya know a red carpet or an Oscar after party theme. Those always sounded fun to me.

I agree that the 80's theme is great! Everyone can dress up without having to spend any money (you can usually "create" an 80s outfit from your own closet without too much effort). I think it sounds like a blast!
