Babies: 3 - 6 Months

How often do you bathe LO?

We usually do it twice a week and clean with a washcloth between baths as needed (hands, neck, etc.).  My friend looked horrified when I told her this.  She bathes her LO every day.

So how often do you give LO a bath?  (pre-soilds ... I assume we'll have to give them much more often if not daily once we start solids)

Re: How often do you bathe LO?

  • 2-3 times a week; if she smells gross I do it more often.  She has eczema and has been doing perfectly fine.
  • Loading the player...
  • every other day unless she smells like spit up then i'll just give her another one or wipe her down with a warm wash cloth.
  • Usually every other day, or every 2 days.

  • Everyday. It's part of our bedtime routine and she loves the bath. She also has lots of hair and the nights we miss a bath, it's obvious because her hair gets all greasy. I haven't missed a bath in a while.

  • Everyday - I bathe all three every night before bed - part of the routine.

  • Every other day and sometimes with 2 days inbetween.  I'll bathe her sooner if she had a major blow out/spit up or if it was a hot & sweaty day.
  • Every day.  He's a total spit bucket, and we do showers, not baths.  He despises baths, just like his parents.  LOL
  • 2 or 3 times a week.

  • Try every other night... but sometimes it's more like every couple days with a washcloth wash down inbetween :)

every other day. sometimes every two days.
  • To be honest I would have looked the same way if you told me that. We bathe LO everyday as apart of our nightime routine. I can't imagine not doing that...i take a shower everyday so why shouldn't she?
  • Up until yesterday, every Sunday, TUesday, and THursday night.  But now that she's started solids and is all formula, I'm bathing her every day that she poops ... which is about every other day.  Formula/solids poopie is GROSS.  Even *I* need a bath after she does one of those!!
  • Every day.

I hate when he comes home from daycare smelling like someone else.  That and he's quite the spitter/drooler, so I feel the need to bathe him.

  • Twice a week. LO has eczema and the pediatrician said not to bathe him too often because of his sensitive, dry skin.
  • On Saturdays, unless he smells particularly pukey.  He doesn't spit up much, and the temperature has been comfortable here. If he was sweaty, I'd bathe him more, but his skin gets soooo dry.

Approximately every other day.  He doesn't really get that dirty most of the time so why waste?  + it can be harsh on the skin.  On the other hand he does seem to love bath time.

  • Crappity, we are supposed to bath them?  I knew I was forgetting something.

    JKing.

I try every other day or so.  She doesn't spit up a lot, so not much to clean.

Twice a week.  3x if he has a particularly poopy/pukey day.

He has dry skin and if we bathe him too often it makes it worse.

I have dry skin and hair also. I typically shower every other day and wash my hair twice a week.  I wash up in between days of course, but my skin would HATE me if I showered every day.

  • 2-3 times a week.  I think its pointless to do everyday, not like they are getting dirty!

Usually every other night, although we don't do soap every night (LO also has eczema). Now that he's started solids, I wipe him down a lot more often, but he still doesn't get very dirty.
  • I was going to ask this same question today, but I totally blanked on it. We bathe K on Wednesday and Sunday nights. And if she's incredibly stinky and/or sweaty. Or after a really big, huge, smelly poop. She doesn't spit up often and so far, her food has been staying on her face and her bib.

We'll probably start giving her a bath nightly when summer comes around.

  • We have the same routine as you. DD has cradle cap and it would definitely get worse if we did it more often. Pedi said there's no reason you have to do it more than 1-2 times a week, unless you have special circumstances.

I'm with you, though...we're still pre-solids, and with summer coming, it will be at least every other night.
