What I used in the hospital

I had my baby girl last week (birth story post here) and I always was interested to hear what people actually used in the hospital so here you go.

I had a c/s and couldn't get out of bed for two days and after that it was only to the bathroom. So I was in a hospital gown the whole time. I used the cotton robe over my gown for when my coworkers visited and when I was finally ready to take a walk down the hall. I never used the underwear I packed because those mesh undies they gave me worked better. I didn't put on a stitch of makeup (and I'm a makeup girl) the whole time. I also wasn't able to take a shower until the fourth day, and it was shortlived because I couldn't stand for long. Really I could have made it with only shampoo, soap, face wash, a robe and my going home outfit of a t-shirt, yoga pants and flip flops. Oh and hair ties. Since I couldn't wash it, my hair was greasy and I had it up the whole time. Helped during labor too.

One thing I used a lot was the boppy. My baby ended up being 9lbs, 12oz and it really helped to have it, for me and for visitors, or else she caused arm cramps! Also I found I had no focus for reading so the books I brought were useless. I did enjoy filling out the baby book so I was glad I had packed that.
