2nd Trimester

What stroller option would you go with?

I am so torn. I really want a rear-facing stroller and have found two that I like.

1.) The first option is here: https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3904587

I like it because it has all the features I like - cup holder, snack tray, rear-facing option, large cargo space underneath, etc. It is also $150 cheaper than the other stroller I like. BUT - it is not compatible with any car seats. Also, I'm not 100% sold on the look of this one (I like the other one better). If I go with this option, I'll have to buy a car seat ($170 for the one I want) and a snap-and-go stroller ($70). So total this option is $100 less than the next option.

2.) This is the second option: https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3446939

I LOVE the look of this one. It has everything I want. It is also compatible with the Maxi-Cosi car seat when you simply pop off the stroller seat. I'd use this option until LO is able to sit in the regular stroller. This option, however, is $100 more than the other option.

I'm so torn on what to do. I feel like I should get the one I really want because I'll use it for 3+ years, but given how much we are about to have to spend, saving $100 and getting essentially the same thing seems more practical.

Re: What stroller option would you go with?

  • I'm not following your math. It sounds like option #1 would actually be more expensive by the time you get the car seat and the SNG stroller.

  • I would get the Foray (option 2). But then, I am dying to buy this stroller.

We bought the Maxi Cosi Mico carseat and the Perle stroller when I had DS. We loved them both and will use them for the new baby. We loved the brand so much we bought their convertible carseat as well; it is amazing- you can recline the seat while they are sitting in it by pulling the handle.

I saw the foray a few months ago and I am trying to convince DH that we need it. It keeps going on super sale at our BRU (for about $150 off), so I am trying to convince him it is cheap. haha. Get a 20% off coupon for the stroller and you will be set.

(DS is 18 months old, 36" tall and about 28 lbs. He still fits perfectly in the foray, so I know the stroller will last you quite a while. And you can have the seat/carseat FF or RF with almost no effort.

  • The stroller is $200, car seat is $170, and SNG is $70. Total: $440

    Option 2 is $350 and $170. Total: $520

  • Celticwife:

The Foray was $150 off?! I've been eyeing it for about 3-4 weeks now and I've never seen it go below $350. Does BRU do that often? I'm bummed the black is sold out, but I like the trail/brown color.

Ours has done it a few times. Sometimes it is the foray, and sometimes it is the perle on sale, but every month at least one of them is.

I have never really seen it on sale online, and I have never seen it in a coupon, but I have seen the sale sign when I am in the store.
